Hi, my mother who lives with us hasn't been keeping the best. In terms of selecting a toilet the occupational therapist mentioned height should be governed by the op height?/the distance from the ground to the back of the knee where it bends. I spoke to a carer who said bidet toilets were removed from a nursing home because the residents found the controls confusing. So I was wondering is there a wash and dry toilet with simple controls?

Hello, hopefully we will get a roof in the coming days and the electric pole blocking the entrance has moved and we have secured 3 phase. I have made so many mistakes on the way with the actual construction (don't ask tis resolved) and real life/other stuff took over big time - why on earth did I think this was doable? Definitely ADHD got me here. I will post pics soon. Grateful to this forum, wise heads on here have helped a lot.

We have been using the Reolink for over a year and it's fantastic. The only issue is about once a month from November onwards I have to take the battery home for a few hours to charge it. No biggie. It gives loads of peace of mind and discourages theft. -
Just asked by ni electric what MIC for the 3 phase quote. Thinking for solar ,electric car and we have 5 adults with 5 ensuites. Ashp and mechanical ventilation . What mic do u think?

Where did you buy sinks, toilets etc?
CalvinHobbes replied to CalvinHobbes's topic in General Plumbing
Thanks, I have a lot to get but I would be prepared to spend more on a good quality toilet because i know they take less effort to keep clean. Not so worried about the sink except it would look odd if they didn't match in terms of whiteness. Also looking at base units. Plumbworld seems good but I read on the ikea their last for 10 years. -
Ok so nearly at the roof stage but trying to think about the toilets, showers, loos etc. I might start collecting soon lol. Anyway, any suggestions?

The lads were there today and put in a heavier new pole and stay which is a good job, safer and it goes along the perimeter rather than at 90 degrees.(on right). They removed the wire stay to the old one and no doubt it will go soon. I know the old pole had 3 phase going to it but not so sure about the new one. They are restringing the neighbourhood and have put in 3 new poles up the street too. It lets us move the driveway. Whatcha think?

Budget is a massive issue, architect put on a zinc roof on the plans lol. Short of winning the lottery that isn't happening. We have 3 weeks before a roof goes on. Architect directed us to another house with corrugated steel and it did look great. Lots of new products on the market and now at the confused stage lol. Any tips?

Hey there, we are looking for something for the roof and some cladding. Friend just used cembrit and it only cost 8k. Any thoughts?

So have a row of mannock blocks along the bottom and at the top of our new build. Now reading about schools and hospitals etc having used aerated concrete in the 50's right up to the 80's and it should be regarded as bad as asbestos. Tell me not to worry!

Hiya, so joists are going in next week, joiner said to use cabershield. I have been ringing around local suppliers to see whats available given the short timespan, I think we can get both cabershield and egger, getting told its 'similar' by the merchants. Is it? Also should we cover it with plastic anyway for added protection? The fecking rain would break your heart. As for tradies not turning up, don't talk to me.

Hello, again - my apologies, agin am here to pick your brains. So our posi joist and posi rafters are due to arrive Friday - yay/phew, equal measure. So the design has a small terrace between our part of the house and mums granny flat. The design was spposed to have a zinc roof (lol, unless we won the lottery that was never happening) and the guttering wiithin the cavity (again, cost led the change) . So trying to get stuff ordered to do the 2 pitched roof's and the flat terrace roof. It's hard for me to understand the architects notes. This trocal Type S waterproof membraneand the trocal sgma protective layer - are there eqivalents you could use? Cheers.

Tiny question in the grand scheme of things. Went to the site to clean out cavities and look at the shape of the tap. Everything is shut here for a bank holiday but I expect the brickies to be back in the morning. I checked the ground, can't see the handle anywhere. Will I have to replace the whole tap or can ye replace the wee handle?

JohnMo I was thinking we should do something similar and hold off for these ones since the factory is opening https://www.rochester.edu/newscenter/metal-perovskite-solar-cells-vs-silicon-efficiency-550212/ like would it pay to invest now when the price is set to plummet?
