Nope- never heard of it before!

I think what I need is somebody to design a system. I’m not bothered about MCS so we can fit the panels and electrician wire stuff- but it needs to all work together properly roof is south facing. this is what’s been suggested:

Thanks! I'm hoping to have a ‘plant room’ in the garage with everything ducted from there to the house which is 7m away. So the house panels would be maybe 20m from inverter? looking at the energy situation now I’m leaning toward more panels and a storage battery

May sound daft but- if I had panels on the main house and garage roof which is detached- is there a problem with distance between the arrays? Currently the plan is : 4.2kw on the garage roof with a 3.6kw inverter to “keep me in g98 regs?” but I’m thinking more is better?

Morning, it’s a static so probably tv, lighting that sort of thing nothing major- the heat, water and cooking is gas. Complicated by needing to run the Graf sewage plant as well. I’m thinking probably a silent diesel one from the hire company?

Private building control do the same in England- not sure about local authority’s?

I’m a carpenter so I can offset my free Labour which is something. At some point people will have to stop having work done, it seems that binary to me? It will come down a touch but a mate owns a multi million timber company and he said don’t expect much. He was scathing of the board companies for choking supply.

ours has a large annexe and attracted loads of interest (14 viewings first week) and sold second week on the market but was a bit niche if you didn’t want the annexe. I just thought- end of furlough, price increases on everything. Things can change so fast, sadly I’m old enough to remember a couple of recessions now. Construction is becoming unsustainable with supply and cost, we’re losing heart a bit at work.

I’m not sure timber will fall much really.

Sorry to pick out one point of a large situation: my usual truss supplier is on 12 weeks for posijoists- I know the fella well and have been using him years, that’s him doing them on a weekend as a favour. however- minera in Wales can knock them out in a week, maybe 20% extra cost but that’s something I’m having to swallow in short- most other builders I know aren’t shopping suppliers enough. When ‘their guy’ says 3 months it’s gospel.

Your mood board looks a lot softer, I prefer it. Send the architect the picture and say ‘can I have this stone please’.
