  1. i have these- do you cut the strip right out or trim it flush?
  2. Tbh- I looked at the pole and don’t see it. I’d have thought a nice plaque mentioning me would be nice.
  3. I was the proud purchaser of a new transformer to get my supply on.
  4. Just bought 136m2- they won’t be stocking it again on ethical grounds even if it becomes available.
  5. Christ on a bike- my electric bill for December to March is £2050 😭 bloody static was still freezing cold.
  6. I have 400mm centre 150x45 rafters. I was planning on using 140mm frametherm with 50mm pir board below but frametherm is on Mega back order. Isover equivalent only comes at 590mm for 600mm centres my walls are 600mm centre studs. is actis hybris any good? I can get that for the rafters, really don’t fancy doing it all in pir board…
  7. Looking good!
  8. Ok, I’ve still been unsettled about this and have spoken to intello. There’s a 1/3rd rule with insulation apparently- as I only have 50mm inside and 140mm between studs/rafters I can staple to the timber
  9. I worked for a builder years ago that built a cricket pavilion facing the car park 😂
  10. Sounds like a multi person task!
  11. thats an eye watering amount of money, nobody can accuse you of skimping! think I did £800 architect and £300 structural engineer.
  12. Cmlc list all the mortgage companies that accept it.
  13. I forgot to say good luck, and take pictures! I did have an ask around and most seem to staple on stud because a passiv cavity is huge and won’t have the pir layer.
  14. Will staples hold it temporary while it’s battened? on a side note- with pir and the joints taped- what does the expensive breathable intello do?
  15. I’m going around in circles! I have 140mm frametherm in timber frame, with 50mm pir board on top, then battens and plasterboard. one supplier is adamant that the intello can be stapled to the studs BETWEEN the frametherm and pir board. The other said over the pir board but it will be a painful job. ??‍♂️
  16. I’ll drop them an email cheers!
  17. they look good. is there anybody that assembles a decent designed kit with them?
  18. Bugger! I’ve looked at plug in solar etc but I genuinely have nO idea which brands are good etc. @Nickfromwales do you have any recommendations?
  19. Very nice! Which brand/supplier?
  20. Materials to go sky high. Timber is rising 5% and will go again now. buy what you can store safely now imo.
  21. I’ve been a carpenter/builder my whole life and this has been hard, living in a caravan has been hell. It’s demoralising to wake up, Graft all day, then go back to the caravan without leaving site for days on end. Still- I’m ploughing through it. would I do it again? Not a chance! I won’t go back to building because simply I can’t be arsed with all the paperwork and stress- and I’m not fussed about making money. what I wouldn’t mind is building other peoples ‘self builds’- Labour only and site management. The passiv side of it has been fascinating.
  22. did you have two different Velfac dealers?
  23. How did you find dealing direct?
