  1. where does the face brick sit ? face brick 150 cav block is the recipie.
  2. dig it out. working back from top. 65mm screed 150mm insulation 150mm hardcore nice and toasty.
  3. flexi duct is the work of the devil. I ran all ours in 110 sewer and left a couple m of flexi at the end for paperwork/nonsense. Zero issues pulling the 3-phase through it.
  4. finish on a truss allways.
  5. same boat as you, did my calcs and the smallest heatpump was sufficient. In march we had no loft insulation and downlight holes all open to roof. It was zero outside at night and with flow temp of 35 it was too hot inside. 22/23. The cop was as high as 8.
  6. not my quote, someone posted it earlier on. Any quote for parts over £4k is a con. Same for labour over £1k to fit it.
  7. 250m2 building is pretty massive ? 500m2 on 2 floors ? Use permeable paving, no one uses conc or tarmac these days. The bare site must be one giant puddle of 25000Litres when it rains ?
  8. the issue with not fitting the windows in line with the cavity insulation means you need to insulate the reveals all the way round. Better to buy a pre insulated cavity closer, fit it then use airtighness tape to seal it to the inside blockwork. Fit and seal window as normal.
  9. easiest one ii found. Does the U values as well. https://www.changeplan.co.uk/heat_loss_calculator.php
  10. hows that work then ?
  11. sorry the picture didnt quote for some reason
  12. 27 cube ! Is it for a block of 25 flats ? Thats mad, so your 'SE' is saying you need 27 thousand litres of storage to catch the water that used to fall on the footprint of your building ? I'd be calling BS on that. Ref fall, attenuation unlike a soakaway can be online or offline so flow can be top or bottom to suit.
  13. 10 of these https://constructionmegastore.co.uk/products/hydrocell-soakaway-crate-1000mm-l-x-500mm-w-x-400mm-h?variant=48103923679543&currency=GBP&srsltid=AfmBOoq6Rb7ITFnUEkMFUNQvOpwsem7jo3VVDE_iu7HFCm7o2IVHE2nPb0s 1 of these https://drainstore.com/stormwater-solutions/jfc-hydro-valve-vortex-flow-control/ couple hours with a mini digger, some pea shingle and a roll of membrane. Change from £1000
  14. dont DIY scaffold. rent a tower, last one i had from jewsons was £40 for a weekend delivered.
  15. have any solar ? We have our ASHP set to 45C the eddi than dumps solar into it until it hits 65C, doesnt take very long this time of year. Never run a dedicated cycle, cant see the need.
  16. blatant fraud. even the nomadic tarmac con men dont ripff that badly.
  17. be careful it doesnt void your mortgage, essentially building a shed leanto on the side.
  18. 1. do heatloss calcs . 2. you need a largish cupboard to store the cylinder, pipework etc. forget any kitchen units. 3, make sure you are airtight, that means no trickle vents etc or it will cost a fortune to run.
  19. hi! how about your recommendation for a steel setup for a 5m bifold, 150mm cav normal brick/block build that minimises thermal bridging ? e.g. no welded bottom plate.
  20. plunge track saw, safer, more versatile etc etc
  21. not really, unjointed cheap conc slabs are not pretty!
  22. get quotes, LABC were double buildzone for us.
