  1. lol - I remember that night “ fill and finish “ ; also the screams of “ it won’t do huge holes “ …
  2. You bugger ! You said “ wall-hole” not “hole” filling - so I have no advice for your situation
  3. Always Mom !👩
  4. Now how did I know that might be taken out of context . Though tbf I giggle at “ gel box “ anyway …
  5. The white one is a moulded plug I.e part of the camera . Other side is a potential issue . I’m going to remove the joining sleeve and just put male and female together in gel box .
  6. Yous da man mofo fella !
  7. Ordered a wago gel box ( 20 quid ffs ! ) . Only one that seemed large enough . Will report back .
  8. I’ve tried that before . Ended up getting moisture in the bag - though if not ‘out in the open ‘ might work . My connectors whilst under some cover are exposed …
  9. What about a wago gel box or similar ?
  10. F me acf50 worked ! I was sceptical because after spraying then cleaning with a cotton bud the connections still looked discoloured . But what now ? . I could ( as mentioned ) fill it with Vaseline - but won’t that dry out ? Any kind of box ( unless airtight ! ) will still be subject to atmospheric corrosion on the connectors ….
  11. You are from Suffolk . But you ain’t old 👍
  12. Bumtastic
  13. This bad boy ? Presume it is a pen literally I.e not going to run down the bath … ?
  14. SWMBO claims I did it . I didn’t ! It’s not like tiles and tools would be put in the bath is it …. 🙄 Strange how it appears blue ! . Any magic repair pen I can use ??
  15. Actually - this is the best solution
  16. If you feel ‘advanced’ you could go down the home assistant route . I avoid where possible battery sensors - though the current zigbee ones seem to be lasting over a year .
  17. Hep20 then go home ! Easy peasy
  18. Acf50 ordered ; box and gel crimps cancelled ! if the acf50 works - I will box that connection joint eventually. Let’s wait and see what happens !
  19. Ok . So spray both bits . Wait . See corrosion disappear. Plug it back together and it’s all good . If that works - it’s (expletive deleted)ing magic !
  20. Are you suggesting I can just spray my rj45 and the recipient housing with this ? . Let it dry and that’s it ????
  21. I always shake mine
  22. Waterproof junction box and gel crimps ordered . Will report success or failure soon !
  23. My external cameras that are mounted literally on the house have their connector behind the cladding . Too date ( nearly 3 years ) no issues . Any connector / sleeve exposed to weather though always seems to perish .
  24. I did think your suggestion was rather tongue in cheek but tbh it would be easier to maintain if a wire failed at a later date . None of these rj45 “ waterproof” sleeves seem good enough - always fail relatively soon I.e in under a year . So I’m going to try this gel crimp solution . First though I need to find a box to put the cables and crimps in . Needs to be bomb proof and water proof . A tug on a cable will easily break those frail cat wires .
  25. Yep . And of course all parts and labour should it fail
