  1. I simply use a pc with home assistant on Linux . I then use zigbee relays to control actuators on the heating manifold . Do you just want heating on/off ? No zones etc ?
  2. Or I become addicted to my shagged door .
  3. Too much work
  4. Think company are going to give me another head
  5. Don’t know yet haven’t made that bit up
  6. Because my skills are shit @joe90 !
  7. Ummm ermmm I’m not very good at measuring things as you know !!! Probably … who knows ….
  8. The doors all nice and laminated even around the ends ( fire door ) no way I can do that and it looks good .
  9. Nope because the door won’t fit . There’s zero play height wise . Plane the top whilst swearing ?
  10. Custom door frame . Left and right 50mm of play Top though no play . Company and myself measured via FaceTime so not sure who is liable ! Concrete lintel at the top so no joy there My options are only 1 that I can see . That header piece needs maybe 5mm sheared off it . I can’t take lining apart as glued . How can I sheer it ? Multi tool will take forever and be a right bodge !!
  11. Did good ! . I’ve got a gcse - it’s in learning (expletive deleted) all . Got an A though .
  12. Welcome ! Post away . I won’t offer any useful help on your project but you’ll enjoy my posts nonetheless! 😊

  14. Thats my Dewalt screwdriver - can I have it back now ?
  15. Noob . Come and talk to the experienced guy.
  16. I like lamb . Not in a field but on a kebab 😊
  17. It’s strange how most self builders suffer stress . Have no timescale and have no budget - no problems !
  18. As soon as planning passed and my plot of land previously was worth 5k instantly was worth 500k . I was jamming like a mofo that day
  19. Actually perhaps I imagined it as a planning rule . Anyway my build footprint moved and grew and no one checked .
  20. Yeah ; it wasn’t advice - just the way I roll 😊👍
  21. My planning at the time did allow a build footprint to have upto a 1m tolerance - assuming of course you stayed on your land !
  22. Accuracy ; what’s that ? I walked my build perimeter out - said “ that’ll do “ - “ near enough “ . I then added 0.5m width to the build . I then went 0.5m higher than the plans . Enforcement officer was called by neighbors regarding height . As officer knew nothing about the build I told him I had added ufh and the insulation had increased the build height . Problem solved . Tape measures stretch in the heat as does my stride .
  23. I always think a base of concrete or hardcore would be better or at least some concrete slabs to support decking pedestals .
