True . Walk on glazing ( for example ) already available in the UK is a good bet .
-
It will be more expensive for imported materials from the EU Sorry ; thought I’d say something sensible and likely ?
-
Remember all these are just temporary!!!
-
Yes . Also I need them to be relatively mobile . I can’t manage a 90kg staircase up / down on my own safely. In 2 halves made getting it down there no problem and moving it in/out the stairwell a fairly quick job and safe !
-
No one goes any further on site than the entrance for deliveries . It will be safe ! I’m going to use it all the time !! Any subbies to date have been using my outdoor rotting staircase- so this is far safer

The beauty of self build. BC have no interest in any safety aspect what so ever within the site. So as long as nothing spills/falls/etc outside i.e. towards the public it's not an issue. Safety is actually quite important to me ( stop laughing! ) ; as it's just me everyday and I don't want to die yet.

As the top stairs literally slide up over the bottom stairs it's almost asking for hydraulic automation. But alas it is only 'temporary / i.e. 2 years min. Will try and finish it tomorrow and even take a photo of me standing on it to prove it conforms to every safety standard known to man.

Not quite finished but ... “ Necessity is the mother of invention “ Indeed the worlds first sliding staircase . Top half slides up over bottom half and will eventually lock in place Looks like an @Onoff monster

Yes it’s a fair point . I’ve got no where to fall - apart from that big hole . After a few days my wife would notice me missing and report it . My own urine is quite nice so I could survive .

Steady ! I’ll hack your shitedroid from here !

Exactly! Enough said . Quality !
-
Yes . Off mains it will charge batteries . With no mains it runs off the battery .
-
Because with head phones I can’t hear delivery drivers and arrogant neighbors! Plus i’ve Already bought it . Also I don’t carry my phone around with me on site - it stays out of harms way . Bluetooth ear phones ( like Jabra elite - which are also really good ) are for gym and running .

Happy Hour again ! The app which you can use to control it seems flakey. The UI on the device seems fine. As i was trying to point out if you have say 3 chargers and decide to buy a radio this might be a good bet. Could sell the chargers on ebay and buy this (thus reducing it's actual cost) - so you would have a dab/fm/streaming radio and a charger. The sound is as good as any Bose I've heard. So it should be compared with that not a 30quid radio from Argos.

Hmmmm This isn’t going to be as easy as I thought . Stairs weigh 90kg - haven’t work out a safe way to get them underground. Also once I build a frame and strengthen it - it’s going to be very heavy !!
-
Site radio died ? Lump hammer falling on it probably didn’t help . Got this dewalt ! Superb sound ! Also can charge all dewalt batteries and mobile phones . The app you can use to control it is bugged very badly . Crashes all time and I’ve yet been able to get the radio firmware updated without a crash . If you have dewalt batteries and need a radio - sell your chargers and buy this !

Where would you put one sqm of extra space?

Oops sorry ! Just read your ‘spec’ . I put 150mm inbetween rafters and 50mm over it all . From memory this gave around 0.15. So with plasterboard aswell should meet your spec . More intelligent people will be along shortly !
-
Hey I put pir insulation between rafters . Foam filled any gaps then 50mm over the lot taping all the joints cheers
-
I’m going with IQglass- you could try them .
-

-
