  1. Bristol council for an hmo do require a ‘fire alarm’ is good . The council don’t state what they want though . If you ask them as I have done they say ‘whatever a qualified electrician gives you’ . So it’s all pretty worthless without some kind of standardisation. Still council want their hmo license fee ASAP .....
  2. Not a great deal in my experience. All councils want different things . But ultimately if the electrician says it’s safe and good they seem happy . I think from memory mine just wrote ‘ was functional and met Legal and electrical requirements ‘ . No detail at all ! . Council just want a qualified person to ok it so when it fails they are liable not the council .
  3. You could buy my walk on glazing and then add yours in with it for sale . Much more appealing to a buyer .....
  4. I’m not moving the main bathroom I e though !! . It’s basically central with shower cubicle in the corner .
  5. Just for you @Mr Punter ! What a pita it was . Working on a bank holiday that’s dedication ; vent above shower ?
  6. No one will want it trust me !
  7. Because my home automation Mac is low spec and won’t cope with multiple hi res cameras .
  8. Linux is king as Mac OS based on it .....
  9. Ffs ! I’ll move them to over the showers ( swears a LOT ! )
  10. I thought this also until bpc designed my layout and I questioned why not over the shower
  11. Yeah file sharing can be a bit ropey pc or Mac . Trying to share our nas to Mac no issues ; windows though hit and miss much to SWMBO disgust !!
  12. 95% of nvr are pc owners so support for Mac version is pants . All pc owners are toss pots because they wait for “updating 1 of 35577567667 updates - please wait “ . And it’s shite and unstable . Windows is shite always has been . I want to kill Microsoft and everyone .
  13. Yeah . Same as others get in this group . It would ‘over run’ the mvhr - I guess they mean humidity at 100% and unit flat out . Also I seem to recall something about condensation forming in the vent pipes . Anyway ! I’m struggling to move the vent as a zillion other pipes and cables in the way !! Ffs !!
  14. Yeah but I read for mvhr ( as told by the supplier ) not to put it directly over the shower . Bpc ventilation whom pretty much everyone suggests said this . I was going to move it to the middle of the room which then allows for a down lighter either side .
  15. Noggins in the ensuite ceiling - yeah I know there’s too many ! . Think I’ll move that mvhr vent - to near the door ...
  16. Added hikvision nvr with 2tb storage . For the last week been fighting it ! Absolute pants ; at the least the crummy ivms4200 software on a Mac . Apparently pc version much better . As yet not been able to even record anything ! Give up playing with it - refund I think . Probably go to security spy on Mac ...
  17. I’d love that chateau - all the walk on glazing I could put in !
  18. Noggins in bathroom ceiling . More tile backer board . Socket enteries for heated towel rails ( not a socket a cable faced plate )

    Air brick

Yes particularly - I can't break through the waterproof membrane - even if I did it's solid rock all around.

    Air brick

I’ll check with flu guy if he’s happy for a ceiling vent going to the outside . Tricky installing an air brick underground! ??

    Air brick

In my world I would do exactly that . Alas purchases on a self build divide into these categories... 1) Things BCO wants 2) Things I want 3) Things SWMBO will HAVE The log burner is a category 3) issue ...

    Air brick

Be my guest to tell SWMBO that .... ?
