That’s really appreciated. There are hurdles still to be overcome ( ignoring the lock ) . You are meant to install on the finished floor . But as it’s going in a wall that’s kind of tricky . Tiling the floor is going to be one of the last jobs . So when I get to that I’ve only guessed the door will clear the tiled floor . That’ll be funny if it doesn’t !

£50 quid says once SWMBO realises this I’ll have to put a lock on the bedroom door anyway . What a joke !
-
This is funny ! privacy glass yes . But if you look through the coloured bits you can see straight in ?????? f ing Eclisse !

Hey my signature has disappeared!!

I know ! F ing mare ! . I’m going to leave it “for now” . Think I’ll go and glue some pipes incorrectly .

Maybe ? https://www.toolsandpartsdirect.co.uk/dewalt-dt20707-multi-tool-blade-titanium-metal-blade-31mm-x-43mm-fits-dcs355-dwe315?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8v7-2pjH6AIViLTtCh2pJQe4EAQYAiABEgIsg_D_BwE I had to buy a set of small spanner’s as there’s no way of getting an adjustable spanner in above door and frame to tighten it

It’s so ill conceived. Months ago I briefly looked at the instructions ( all 4 versions ) and thought f this ! But alas as I have to build a stud wall over the door frame in the ensuite I have to do it some day . SWMBO of course thinks it looks fab ! . It is smart - but installation designed by an idiot . I can drill the steel - but that will look shite . Why they couldn’t supply a decent catch ( strike ? ) plate I don’t know . Then at least it could over up the hole that’s a mess . Not sure what to do on this . Better eBay see if there is a multi tool steel cutter blade . I hate things like this because you only have one chance . ? . I need like 5 attempts before I get it right .
-
Not sure of ‘nice way’ to cut into the steel . Multi tool blade won’t do it .
-
The next pita - the lock . Can see how it works . Turn and ‘arm’ comes out and hitched into tuning fork shape . So I’ve got to cut a recess into the steel frame ?!? . I really don’t get the ‘design’ of this entire system . It’s not thought out - everything’s a pita !

I fulfill all the points in that list . But that doesn’t mean I qualify . Perhaps I will and get sent the questionnaire I believe some will get sent - that might ( or might not ) be people’s downfall .
-
I don’t either . I am declared as a self employed sole trader . If Hmrc are going to automate this process / payments surely they can only look at a few basic details to make a broad judgement on who gets paid and who doesn’t .

*#%^##^ ^#^*^#^ What a pig ! . Ok , I’m doing it on my own but ffs ! - with a 50kg door it’s a nightmare ! This is the single most thing I’ve sworn at on the entire build to date ! It’s on ‘loosely ‘ . Assuming I can adjust ( what minor adjustments there are ) it won’t be coming off again !! So the little ‘rollers’ that you fit on the finished floor before installing the door can f right off . I’ll cut them in half and glue them in . ffs !

Good . The policy should help everyone ! I’m still not expecting anything .
-
On that list a self employed LL would qualify . I guess depends on what else they check like NIC contribution.
-
See the wank pot council have found something to do; sending out hmo approved license’s . Irrespective of CV19 “will inspect within 5 years “ - what a joke !
-
Think ‘box’ on the floor behind the bath is the solution . These are nice roper Rhodes taps - so not for a rental !! ?
-
Yeah . It’s just I’ve bought the stand pipes and taps . I assume standard taps can’t be converted to wall mount ?
-
Looked at this today . ummmm ‘d and ahhhhhh ‘d Don’t feel brave enough to break the screed avoiding ufh to get pipe work through - feels like a suicide mission . As the stand pipes are largely not visible with a bath in front - will just build a box so water pipes can enter from the back and never break through the floor .
-
I remember reading something similar ages ago . It’s conclusion was the same the unemployed HMRC and accountants was the issue !
-
One way to look at it . A know a LL who deals only with DSS . Says now he’s glad as payments are guaranteed and effectively ‘immune’ to CV19 - unlike the rest of us .
-
Yes . A mortgage to a LL is an expense - a working cost . To not be tax deductible ( except by 20% ) seemed grossly unfair . The argument to level the playing field with first time buyers seemed pathetic. Anyway - before CV19 LL’s we’re leaving the market it droves . I can only assume CV19 will accelerate this . Not sure where everyone’s going to live !
-
Agree . It’s all pants quite frankly . I’ll just pay tax that every other (expletive deleted)er can claim while never getting a penny
-
@Thedreamer “ If your property income was say £40,000 and I earned the same amount as employee but had to pay significant more national insurance, how would this be fair and just on the employee?” It isn’t . Is it fair I’m taxed on turnover with a 20% discount not profit . Only profession / trade that has that . Swings and roundabouts ?
-
Bet @Onoff just looks at anything work nicking in the background. Eclisse instructions are terrible because they send so many variations. None of them are particularly clear even if you stick with one set . So I assume this is correct because it appears to work ! . Next step stick it in the frame and get that pig of a door on it .
