I can see some pigeon poo that could be slipped on

Erm or just a small cup to scoop it out . Take 2 mins .
-
Or nice cleavage photos ??

True . But tbh 11 cameras at a lower frame rate would help . Also I can’t think of a reason why I’d want more than 2 weeks of recorded history I.e never away for more than 2 weeks . But otherwise for you it would be expensive
-
Yeah . I was just wondering how feasible it would be . Also if cloud based vps are backed up I.e so you can access the backup . Save a big chunk of cash on hardware but to spend it on monthly storage/ cpu .

Actually would it be practical to run the dvr software on a virtual private server ?
-
True . But I find the masking option can reduce this a bit . I did try a hikvision dvr and wasn’t that impressed . If you have ( or will have ) a nas - I think better to use that . I am using the Synology dvr software ( but you pay per camera ? ) but will change to blue iris later …

I’ve always found use-ip a good company . Good advice and I think they offer a 28 day ‘try before you buy ‘ type option .
-
You’ll need a poe switch though some recorders do provide it . You can’t go wrong with hikvision cameras . I’ve got 4 that have been recording continually to my Nas for a year now - no issues

We used IQglass . We liked the product ( but not the price ? ) . They have an amazing showroom to visit . Also our allocated project manager f’up things . He left the company sometime after . I complained about the issues he had caused . To give IQglass credit they did ( still are ) resolving them . So tbh I’m in 2 minds to recommend them . But felt I should be honest ?

RK Door Frame "Floating" with Nothing Underneath
Pocster replied to Ralph's topic in Doors & Door Frames
I have an rk door and did indeed give a brick solid support under it . Must admit I’d be unhappy about brackets under it - I think our door weighed in at 150kg + . No way of getting a nice chunk of steel under there ? . Or ( maybe a stupid suggestion ) shuttering and pouring concrete to run under it ? -
The doors great . I was sent 4 soft close runners ( all different ) and 7 set of varying instructions. 1 set of instructions ( the correct one ! ) and 1 correct soft close runner would of helped substantially! . Eclisse didn’t seem interested in my plight “ we have lots of variations just use the instructions “ . They didn’t know which instructions were correct for me . I gave up in the end ; ignored all instructions and just experimented making up the frame on the floor . Not really what you expect for a premium product . The instructions btw are all quite similar but have variations here and there .

Fair enough. Just wasn't sure how much play you have with a copper pipe. Whilst with hep2o you can pull/push to some extent ( even if clipped nearby ) with no issue. But I'm not a copper man! ? -

I tried to work this out also . Thought I’d had planned it correctly . But if it’s a bit tight and the shower controls are just 5mm too far back it’s an issue . Just allow for the possibility of moving the entire unit forwards or backwards . Not sure how that works with copper , but with Hep2o there’s enough give in the pipe to allow it . Thinking about it - it’s not possible with copper pipe is it ???? -

Copper is dead I’m afraid . Why go to all the hassle when hep2o makes it easy . Anyway @Onoff what’s the point of all the effort to do copper which no one will ever see when you can’t tile ? ?? -
Hello all. New build ICF house - 4 years on and need help!
Pocster replied to Peg n Bru's topic in Introduce Yourself
I think though you need to take into account the value it adds to the property. What I mean is there’s probably little point adding a basement to a house thats market value is 400k . But if your build has a value of 1 million it might be worth it . Guess it’s an extreme version of never spend more than 10% of the value of the property on the kitchen . What added equity does a basement add ? . *Always* assume you will sell the property one day . Find a good estate agent and see what the ceiling price is in the area . Is it an affluent area ? . Good schools nearby ? ( hence larger properties preferred ) . So many factors to consider . A basement living is like a freebie as planning usually has little to object too .- 22 replies

Concealed shower valve install questions/help
Pocster replied to Vijay's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Hep2o all the way . Fittings allow for rotation and require no skill . Once fitted leave exposed then pressure up and leave for a week ( at least that’s what I did ) then check every few hours for the slightest of weeps -
Concealed shower valve install questions/help
Pocster replied to Vijay's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
This is really important but imho difficult because an extra mm here or there on the tile or adhesive will cause you issues . My advice is if you can access it from the rear make the fittings on a piece of ply or similar so you can move it forwards/backwards a bit ( not to strain the pipe fixings ) . If access from the rear isn’t possible ( not a euphemism ? ) make it so that you can get packers in there behind the screws if you need to move it forward .
