Same problem. When I’m in the bathroom sometimes I miss the toilet. - straight in the bath trap . Never dries out now ; but does smell a bit funny .
-
I assumed my sparky would do this but he didn’t . His logic is if there’s faulty wiring you’re going to find it either way . So he just wired everything up and powered on . I did all the wiring so tbh was expecting an issue like a screw through a cable - nothing - perfect I’m so multi talented even I’m surprised ?

I get called that a lot . When people see me they say “ Oh God ! “ ?
-
No need now. All corners done. I'll get plasterer to fix it next time he's in
-
Don't you dare get my squiffy thread locked!
-
Nothing wrong with my tool .
-
Yes , yes ! You buy me the Aico ones ?
-
This seems to say yes https://www.aico.co.uk/standard_regulation/fire-building-regulations/ The wireless aspect isn’t the real cost . As you can get battery fed wireless ones for 30 quid a pop
-
So do they HAVE to be mains ? Can I have battery but wirelessly connected ?
-
Thinking about this . Can I just have battery powered wireless interlinked alarms ? Much cheaper . Doesn’t require a sparky to install them . I can just ignore my power cable to each alarm point then . Regs in a domestic new build aren’t it *has* to be mains powered are they ??

He’s long gone . Booked up now until next year ! . When I need more plastering I’ll get it fixed then .
-
They were cut before plastering . Were all good . But once he’s plastetered over most of them I guess the electrician ‘struggled’ to cut them out straight . I left sparky to it - so didn’t see until all done
-
It was . Plasterer changed it ?
-
So just let the plasterer do it ? Nothing for me to do ? ?
-
Actually just ordered a cheap black socket surround - see how that looks

I did the boarding and whilst a bit out I can’t believe I was this far out . As you can see the square corner twists as it gets lower to the floor . As I plan an upstand tile at the base it will either be on the piss or have a chunky 10mm gap at one end . If I leave this can a plasterer fix this ? I.e straighten the edge and blend in ? . As said at least 10mm out at the base ; too much for a plasterer to correct ?
-
Got these gaps around sockets where the plaster has been chipped , literally on every socket ? Whats the best poly filla ( assuming that’s what I need ) to get this flush , no sanding and presumably paint over ? . Or is white poly filla non painted ok ??
-
Yep . I remember that also . The thing is it’s all ready for delivery apparently ( though I doubt it ) and they just reschedule over and over again
-
Some parts in stock . But literally 100’s of miles away . I think with brexit and Covid their supply issues are causing major issues . I notice this week stocks across all major cities are zero or low
-
No chance of delivery ever I think. 5th time they rescheduled . Looking for sliding wardrobes , self install. Any recommendations ? ( not sharps at mega money ) spaceslide.co.uk ? online-bedrooms.co,uk ? Need delivery within 4 weeks.

What about a big hole to winch stuff in then replace with walk on glazing?

I tried a few systems The Rubi ( or similar ) wedge system was easily the best . for example https://www.buybrandtools.com/acatalog/rubi-tile-levelling-system.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwgISIBhBfEiwALE19SXecPd1Ah15pf7mX3wOswODxrL5S8tg6pCmnAVxuvPr4Y1-N_w4jwxoCRxUQAvD_BwE

You NEED to use them - trust me ; 100% recommended ?
