This is of course true . @Peg n Bru do you plan doing any of the work yourself ? . It will take much longer ?? ; but your labour costs are zero .- 22 replies

Nothing really . Distraught man and p*seed off SWMBO just put the doors back on . I *guess* if this was a single door that slid across 2 units I.e 2 units wide but only one sliding door it might work as a soft closer for one door on both sides ? -

Right door front inside . You can see the soft close and the peg to trigger it . But that soft close on the same door at the other end does nowt -

It does f all . Front door going left soft closes . Rear door going right soft closes . This bit does nothing as far as I can tell .- nothing can catch it to use it . So 2 soft close that work for either door against their edge . This middle one though …. -

Mines clicked in ! Been in and out the closet more times than a Friday night . Have soft close working on both sides now ! ? But this stage confuses me . This fitting sits ( looking at the wardrobe ) on the right door top left corner . But I can’t work out what it is for -

It’s a mare ! On this left door the door plastic can’t connect with the soft close . Watched a few videos - can’t see anything obviously wrong -
Jesus ! Talk about a test of endurance. Got the doors on - all great ! Then realise the soft close add ons are in a seperate box and have to remove a door to sort . ? Looking at the unit door on right sorted . Soft close works fine . For the non IKEA reader the system and fittings for the left and right door are different. The left door I just don’t get . Followed the destructions but can’t get it to work nor see how it works . Someone enlighten me as I’ve got another 10 of these muver (expletive deleted)ing things to do ?????

I think for some Suds is everything and for others it really is a complete joke . Another joke aspect in my experience was a ‘garden landscape ‘ design . I knocked up something in 5 minutes . My Architect laughed and said it was rubbish and wouldn’t satisfy the council . My effort passed no issue and it was a child like pathetic approach deliberately. I did this because I sensed it was a tick box exercise for the council like SO many things …. -

? Trust me you are lucky . A miserable shite group of vindictive neighbors can find 140 things to object to . Now that we can see the style of the neighbouring properties I would simply mimic them as near as you can to avoid the council objecting to the ‘ character ‘ . A precedence has been set follow it . Then with the money saved from your architects previous effort go underground and double the floor area ? -

Also , you are well jammy . No neighbors objecting . You are sorted ! That’s half the battle . As others have said with no idea of nearby ‘styles’ or build line it’s hard to judge what you should do . Some photos of nearby properties would help and a Google overhead view or street view gives some context .
