  1. Starting to think about the main floor area. I like large format ( but perhaps not the price ) - wondering how feasible it is for one lowly human to lay them on their own. Large format of course is anything from 1000 x 1000 up.... ( seen as high as 3200 x 3200! ) I assume once back buttered ; the weight ( using glass suction cups ) becomes the issue......
  2. That reply is golden
  3. Lots of pointless advice , so I’ll do it to 1 level .
  4. I don’t know what I need to know
  5. A (expletive deleted)ing drone ? ; at ground level !!! . Get back to your shag shed !
  6. I was wondering that ! . All 1 level or step it ? . Or a reason to do one or the other . I don’t really know what the question is .
  7. looking back at fixed sky light
  8. looking along it towards next sky light
  9. For my sins removed the rotted timbers down the side . Concrete wash out slurries and everything else was sent down here …. Decking has to match height of walk on glazing . If I continue that height seems ‘ high ‘ . Could get past the walk on glazing , make a step down then continue along until next glazing unit . So they’ll be at different heights . I can’t see any reason not to do that . I assume it would look visually better all one height . Just in case anyone asks those plastic legs are just in place roughly so I can an idea !
  10. Save getting any stuff in your eye

  13. Went for these . Have a chop saw - but pita at the moment to use .
  14. Trying to cut this think steel trim . Have these snips ( assume they are right for the job . But they bend / warp the steel and don’t seem to cut neat . Better instrument for the task ? ( avoiding using the word tool ! )
  15. Yeah it’s true not flat . I have found that with self levelling kits you can pretty much mitigate the ‘bend’
  16. How large is it ? Just wondering how much space you lose to insulating internally … ( appreciate you have to though ) .
  17. Oh this is easy . ” Hide the problem , hide the shame “ Here’s my ceiling ; look at all that shite I’m gonna hide . For you ? Simples ! . Stick an open laptop on the worktop infront - thank me later 👍
  18. Yes but lots of boxes can now disappear. Also the size you want will be the size you can’t find . You’ll then travel to the BM, buy a box the correct size and return home . ‘X’ nanoseconds later you’ll find the box of the screws you wanted . Quantum entanglement plays a large part in self builds . Also temporal time distortion. I recently posted “ 10 yrs ago “ - but it’s not really 10 years . I believe Stephen hawkings just before his death was going to submit a paper on “ Quantum mechanics on a self build “ . Alas , the paper was never finished .
  19. First and only time I’ve read that statement.
  20. No . Just to say your jokes are crap .
  21. True . You seem to frequent that area though 🙄
  22. Are you THE John Bishop ? ; the comedian ?
