  1. Don't drink and 3D print kiddies. Can you guess what it is?
  2. I've just started reading Part H.
  3. Well the cess pool/septic tank, pit 'o sh!t filled up quicker this time. Plenty of ladies time of the month products down there despite me telling the female members of the household and visitors not to! So it's pumping time again. Rang the same nice folk I used last time to find that the guy who came in 2019 succumbed to cancer just before Christmas. Seems his treatment was delayed during lockdown and it spread! 😢 Anyway they (his wife),are coming back to me on Monday with a date. Hacking through the brambles again got me thinking once again about a treatment plant so I got the long tape out and did a rough sketch. Any thoughts welcome as to position, make of treatment plant etc as I've not got a clue as to a starting point. The centre of the cess pool is 1500mm off the lhs boundary. The boundary came long after the cess pool was built when some of the land was sold off. Cheers
  4. No gas here but a 90% efficient oil boiler. It's staying for now.
  5. Left or right?
  6. No1 or No2 all over was it?
  7. I fully appreciate your point. What I'm getting at as is very easy for the chemical industrial giants to jump on the bandwagon of veganism and basically produce ultra processed sh!t under the vegan banner, charge through the nose for it, get rid of lots of nasty, suspect ingredients to boot and pretend they're saving the planet. Advertising is geared to making you want it. The commodity is irrelevant as long as the masses keep paying for it.
  8. "They" want "you" hooked into a commodity. Whether it be electricity or whatever. The way the whole eco friendly thing is promoted is complete b@ll@cks. It should be on a fabric first basis. Putting an ASHP into an unsuitable setting shouldn't be allowed to happen. I'd liken it to vegan products. Promote vegetarianism and you can grow a lot of your own food at home. Promote veganism and the whole industrial, socioeconomic status quo is maintained. Factories that now produce chicken nuggets produce vegan chicken nuggets. The infrastructure barely changes, profits remain the same or higher. The population becomes reliant and thus controllable. Soylent Green / Red.
  9. Whine about it?
  10. I've used a small petrol gennie just to keep the lights and central heating on before.
  11. Soon! Though a remote Welsh valley was the setting for the post apocalyptic Play For Today, Z For Zachariah.
  12. I only have the one garage. Anyway, it's far too close to the house. If I had a stream I'd put the cabin the other side as SWMBO can't swim.
  13. Love it. Very jealous.
  14. About the only thing you're capable of turning on!
  15. Lost my copper pipe soldering mojo a while back. Couldn't get on using MAPP gas so went back to the blue bottle stuff and all good.
  16. Just take your time!
  17. 3D printed lithophanes?
  18. You can catch a cold if making to sell when such a lamp I think would have to be CE marked. For that you need to submit a Technical File and lodge with an approved body. Also has to comply with the Low Voltage Directive if mains. Pretty sure the making of such lamps was discussed on The Electrician Forum a few years back. Someone was making them from pipe fittings. @ProDave might recall? Link to the mig welding forum: https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/western-themed-lampshade.124392/#post-2134677
  19. Here you go ref the material element. The rest is just tin bashing: https://www.dannells.com/lampshade-materials-11-c.asp
  20. I've seen some hideous, tasteless carp but this is right up there! 😂 Reminds me of the fake western tat at the theme hotel I stayed in at Disneyland Paris. However...ever willing to help a fool part with his money...going to post on the mig welding forum for thoughts. The cutting out of the shapes, assuming you can find suitable graphics would be a doddle for one of the lads over there with a fibre laser. It would then need rolling into a hoop and tacking together. Only bit I'm thinking of "how to" would be the opaque section.
  21. Hole In My Bucket?
  22. Aren't some screws designed to counter this to some extent? Agreed not the best method. As I said on Zoot's thread I would route pockets in the underside of the top rail for the spindles to slot into. Would act as a "band" around the spindle and help guard against splitting. Then screw from above and plug. I'd likely glue the joint too.
  23. I knew where you were going with it, don't worry. Very unsporting what with me being blind and inebriated! 😂 My being sober and sighted might have given us another 5 or so points I reckon. Might have edged to 3rd place.
  24. My daughter might remember. Not only had I had a few pints but I'd worn my contact lenses so no good for reading / writing (had thought about walking back in the driving rain). Didn't think to take my reading glasses. Such was my blurred vision I put Alan Titchmarsh down for Alec Baldwin and Seb Coe for Paxman in the picture competition..... Great fun. There's another on Fri 28th!
