Something then like this: Got as far as cutting the box sections: It was meant to be a zero spend project but rather than make I bought some 15mm long nylon spacers for the pivot points: And then splashed out on some end caps for the box section. Spent about a tenner so far. Drilling next!

One of the pungent all in one's? Five Star maybe? I've been using this of late being on the cheap seats. Smells like it should work: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Painting+%26+Decorating/d150/Exterior+Wood+Care/sd3176/Lumberjack+Triple+Action+Wood+Treatment+5L/p34502

This then I assume is no good to incorporate in a home brew MVHR? Edit: Way off I think. First time delving into Part F it says something on the lines of 29 l/s for a 5 bed house. This unit I think is 180 l/s !!! -
Can you convert a thread to a blog? A "mate" of mine was asking...

I reckon a 400mm disc so you could cut +150mm thick. How to sharpen then a say 2mm thick disc?
-
I just tried (on the quiet ) a cheapo pizza wheel on a bit of 25mm pir. Cuts it like a dream! You need to ideally push the blade against the non foiled end like in the video. Pushing the blade into the foiled face and there's some resistance. I wonder how thick a say 300mm dia blade would need to be to remain rigid whilst offering as little resistance as possible? Scale it up and job done!

Bullet Tools who make the manual, push cutter bench in the video do some rather interesting blades: https://www.bullettools.com/blades/ Ref the circular saw blades they do 10" (254mm) and 7.25"(184mm) 15.875mm ones. But the 0.625" bore is 15.875mm. My Evolution 185mm circular saw has a 16mm bore so guessing the American one wouldn't fit? They appear to also do a similar hand saw to the one @PeterStarck was given to cut his icynene. I couldn't find the push cutter in the video on the site, mind I am waiting for the Neurofen to kick in!

It's finding a pizza wheel that big that's the problem!

Whoa!!!! Speakers are seriously bassy but in a good way. The play list tonight included: Michael Mind Project - Anti Heroes Christina Novelli - Concrete Angel Linkin Park - Feint Flip & Full -Shooting Star Nadia Ali - Rapture Deadmau5 etc Interesting how the foil on the PIR blocks the Bluetooth. You have to be in the bathroom with the phone. -

Nasty, rainy day so fiddling about! 25mm galv conduits in for the pocket lights. MORE vcl penetrations! They'll go into 50mm galv trunking across the joists which will keep them safe from Roland/Tufty: Did these now as the galv trunking will have to go in THEN the new soil pipe run to the right: The plug on the leads fits up nicely: Should make replacing them a breeze. (I've actually just ordered a second set of the blue lights I'm using): One (132mm dia) Bluetooth speaker hole cut. The other one is above the bath so I'm leaving that until I'm a) sober & b) have protected the bath! I really must make some space to work INSIDE! -
Loving this!

Talking of U-boats this is a good watch:

You mean a strut I think? I was envisioning one wire either side. Is the dish being blown against or just worried by the wind? You used to be able to get mesh dishes. I wonder if that would help with the windage issues, probably not, still a lot of surface area there. The (mad?) idea I had was to copy the wartime acoustic mirrors: So you have a concrete block and the dish sits in that. It'd work a treat. In the case of the acoustic mirrors the parabola focused the incoming sound of enemy planes (pre radar) on a microphone. For satellite use you could glue on tin foil, takeaway containers or even metallic paint the concave face as long as the lnb was positioned right.
-
What, from the rim say back to the wall? Shouldn't cause a problem. The sat signal reflects off the parabola onto the lnb so keep that clear. Some stainless steel wire might look a bit more attractive than studding.
-
You could mount the dish on the ground and encase the rear in a concrete block for all it matters as long as it points in the right direction. Make it look like a summit marker!
