Stuck with CT1... No gap. Tbh I've been using the trims to get a "best as it gets" line to try and hide my dodgy tiling.
-
Freaky! I want a slate roof too!

What were your base walls like? Mine are VERY rough cast rendered. Did consider sand blasting all the layers of paint off then redering flat before the ewi goes on. What did you do ref soil pipes etc? Cheers

Grey CT1 bought! The window sill then: It's two full tiles and a cut one to the right. Something's "out" though. Planning on having a 1mm gap at the front where the tile meets the trim. To get the correct gap between the tiles then at the front, from left, the packs go 2, 1, 1, 2 rather than 1, 1, 1, 1. Not sure where to lose the discrepancy...

Was it a pane to apply?

Ticks the reutilising brownfields site box and promotes the LA's green commitment.

When I first joined the site's predecessor I couldn't for the life of me figure why people were using passive infra red detectors in conjunction with insulation! "pir"

Any pointers on ballpark per m2 figures if one was to fit EWI on a DIY basis at today's prices? Also particularly interested as to the detail below ground, how the ewi bridges the dpc etc if the property is of traditional construction on concrete footings. Thanks

A thread here on the subject:

It's got a web browser. Basically turns the telly into a big Android 7.0 tablet. Aside from modernising the daughter's Sony I'm just really looking to give the main tv, an old 42" Sharp a new lease of life in line with our changed viewing habits. So we can watch Netflix then flick to Discord and video chat with my lad etc. Really didn't think the webcam would plug and play. When I knock through the lounge /diner (a much bigger job than it sounds) we'll get a bfo all singing 'n dancing 65" or bigger. The Android box has Miracast built in, the initial reason for the thread. Guessing I need an app on the phone to be able to stream content from it to the TV? Watching say YouTube on the phone and I get the option to "Cast to..." and it says "Finding devices..." but nothing happens...

Not investigated the Kodi bit yet. Interestingly it'll play H.265 .mkv from a stick or external HDD. Also a crystal clear pic using Discord and my lads Logitech webcam. Netflix fine. Whatsapp had some issues.

I swear to God that was my line! Before filming I asked if we were to read from a script and they said no just talk in general and we'll edit it. First stuttering words out of my mouth were "Well.....it's been compared to.....a giant preying mantis.....or something out of Thunderbirds.....". Next thing we're sitting in a bar getting bladdered that evening and the news comes on the big screen. First words out of John McDermott's mouth were MINE! Then the slow realisation from the rest of the punters it was us Englishmen on the telly!

Dunno, how would I do that?

@pocster did a Louis Theroux Weird Weekend epidode, Pony Girls or Furries...maybe both!

Now I love Quinetic but where on TLC's website does it say that the IP67 switches can be used for dimming? https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/QUWP1.html? Well, HERE: Who knew? Just use the appropriate receiver module. Just trying to grow the balls to plastic prime and spray one with chrome effect paint. QUWP_Instructions.pdf

We leave scraps for the fox out and one rat is so brazen it will cross open ground. I've had in literally in my sights but SWMBO said not to so as not to upset the youngest! Plus I'd had a beer... If the fox turns up and smells the rat it ignores the scraps & goes ballistic looking for it and following it's scent.

First time DIY: how many of us?

8 years to do a bathroom here...lucky I don't get sidetracked! ...but then there's nothing I won't attempt. -
If I say clear CT1 the 1mm gap first and let dry then grey CT1 a bead I can see the grey CT1 sticking like sh!t to the clear CT. When the grey gets old and tired and I rip it off it could conceivably pull out the clear CT1 from the 1mm gap. @Nickfromwales method of grout in the 1mm gap followed by easily replaceable colour matched silicon seems more sensible maybe? I can't see that when the standard silicon gets grubby it will pull the grout out? Another option maybe; clear CT1 in the 1mm gap, let dry then colour matched silicon bead. The question is again when removing the grubby bead will it pull on the CT1? Must admit I'm erring towards CT1 at least in the 1mm gap.
