I'd want a trip on that...

Or the cheap option: https://www.omegawindowfilms.co.uk/one-way-silver-mirror-window-film.html?

Isn't it @NSS who's got the auto darkening windows? How cool would it be to incorporate that tech in a glass balustrade? Have a pir to trigger pseudo bars or a design if you get too close. A bit like the mesh on the Occulus Rift if you stray too far from the play area.

There is a specific forum for this sort of thing you know? Silly me OF COURSE YOU KNOW!
-
Just figured the reason for the skylights! Did you position them so guests have no option but to park the car and step out over them? Uplighters?

Glass floor...guests below...you've just come out of the shower wrapped in a towel...

Top tips there, thanks. Pretty sure I've changed one of them in the past but fitted like for like i.e Tower. No idea now which one(s)!
-
Are you going to have any "stenciling" on it etc? Just thinking to stop kids /dogs running into it.

Looks good. Where's the diving board? Is that above the leaky roof swimming pool?

Decided to as I'm draining down to replace the leaking Tower 3 port 28mm that I'll replace both 2-ports, again Tower brand as one looks a bit suspect i.e. stained. And at the same time give the whole CH system a bit of a clean etc. Deffo got some issues. For instance the system was calling for HW yet the upstairs rads were getting warm the other night! Only guess is the old Tower valves are letting by. I've procured a new Honeywell 28mm 3 port (£60) and two Honeywell 22mm 2 ports (£40 ea). Hoping then: 1) The brass bodies are interchangeable and I don't have to shorten lengthen pipes. 2) That I don't have to remove any olives i.e. reuse the old. With lashings of Jet Blue I reckon they might do up a bit tighter than before. 3) A week maybe two before I do this, should I had some sort of system cleaner to stir things up etc? Vaguely remember adding something via the radiator years ago... 4) Should I think about some sort of Magnaclean thing if so what's good? 5) The upstairs flow / return system (5 rads) doesn't have a drain cock anywhere, add one? 6) The downstairs, ancient single pipe system does have a drain cock that I added. Permanently in place I've a hose attached that runs under the suspended ground floor, through the wall then across the path to the flower bed. 7) What additive should I add upon completion? Any pointers appreciated, anything I've missed?

Measuring tall stories is a breeze I bet...

Tbh I'd just got out of the shower when I took that. If those tiles had been reflective you could have played spot the ball!
-
AND my mate John The Chippy! He walks in and says "Oh, you've a bit of a shadow line there...what happened?" & "Still, is it the first time you've tiled?" Git! Literally carries a tape wherever he goes! "What you could have done is..." is my favourite. I did once consider a tape measure tattoo on a finger, for measuring bolts...

Looking like you'll see this grout line as you walk in. Easiest to slip the tiles to go on behind the ones already on. Tbh it'll be obscured a fair bit by the basin & pedestal. Got to trim a few tops off!
-
Yep, I've used a 10mm notched trowel to bring the tiles out a bit.
-
I just routed some 8"x2" I think it was with a simple jig and used the same for the treads. Glued and screwed (6x100s). I also put 3 bits of studding across. All I've got left is this short section:

A little more progress! Back of the pockets: 3 tiles round the pipes and the waste wedged over a bit to try and "straighten" it: Not sure whether to put a strip of tiles up here - varied from 20 - 22mm. There's going to be more of a gap at the top than the bottom...the "blue" wall is plumb, it's the tiles that are a bit off! Wondering if I could fill that gap with adhesive rather than tiles?

Rockwool say here than their slabs specific to EWI have a varying density; a soft inner face to take up irregularities in the wall face and a harder outer to render onto...apparently! https://cdn01.rockwool.co.uk/siteassets/rw-uk/literature-downloads/datasheets/ewi-slab.pdf?f=20180917035840 I like the fact they're Euroclass A1 - non combustible.

Hi from Glasgow! Renovating an old terraced house
Onoff replied to Iain M's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome. I've spent a bit of time up in Glasgow visiting family & working. Think you'll find you need really to be super insulated and near airtight to really benefit from MVHR. Now with an old house where do you add insulation to say the walls? Add it inside and lose space. Add externally and you increase the wall thickness which may be at odds with neighbouring properties if terraced. @Ferdinand I think paid particular attention on his Little Brown Bungalow refurb project to energy saving / insulation. @oranjeboom went the whole hog with EWI and digging floors deeper for UFH. Check out too @MarkyP's comments and pics on my EWI thread. What type of property is you have etc? We love pictures btw! -
I quite like it!
-
Ye olde pizza box template trick: Pity that capped 15mm is live, no local isolation so I'll lose hot in the upstairs ensuite whilst I tile here.

I think they mean the as yet "unclad" gable to the left of the extension. Zoom in people and you can see the stones coming up where the slates stop. -
What "cable" is coming down from the loft? Is it in a duct? Could you run another cable down? Thinking you could run a long USB extension cable with the wireless mouse dongle on the end or dongle on the end of Cat-5 using similar to this. I may have a spare something similar kicking about... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Over-Ethernet-RJ45-Extender-Adapter/dp/B0029HRYBK/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?

If it wasn't for this forum I'd have never given them a second thought! Previously I thought 3G was a phone standard!
