72 hours, that's so good to know, I was thinking 24! Would it be detrimental to have go now at nutting up these fixings a tad more ?

I have to run a bead of sealant where the wall tiles come down and meet the floor. The wall tiles sit nominally 1mm off of the floor tiles and the gap has been rammed with grout. First step will be a line of clear CT1 at that junction. When set I'll apply a bead of silicone, probably grey, but how to do this neatly? How big for a start should the bead be, 5mm? More? A rough plan was to say mask 1/4" from the floor and the wall, silicone it, tool the excess off then peel the tape off. Sound like a plan?

Anything to make SWMBO's life easier... Found the vintage, short reach 19mm that I wanted last night but couldn't find in the plumbing bag. As aforementioned the 19mm ratchet spanner that came with the pan (really nice touch I thought) didn't work. Couldn't get enough throw to click the ratchet. Think it was hitting the pan connector. This one should just get things a bit more nipped. Just hope I don't upset the CT1! Not looking forward to putting my not inconsiderable weight on it for the first time. Tbh I'll probably be sh!tting myself...

I was tempted but refrained. Nowhere to wash my hands yet! Did call my daughter in to do the first flush. "Now perhaps you'll start flushing the toilet!" I said.

Yep. flickr.com Think the free version is limited to 1000 photos / videos...no good for me! Paid for is unlimited. It was free but they got taken over and inevitably decided to cap the service / charge. There's also Tinypic, Postimage I just like the look and feel of Flickr....it's just.....slicker! I got a deal on it but otherwise it's $49.99 a year I think. Figured less than a quid a week was worth it to me as I already had so much on there.

You get a play button on Android...

Have you filled it up? I've ended up paying for Flickr Pro.

? Aren't they coming up as Flickr videos?

Pipe offcuts: Packed by 5mm: £s of CT1: All baby wiped and de taped: No.1s: & No.2s: It fills up so fast and quiet! The 19mm ratchet didn't really work. Couldn't get enough throw to well...ratchet. Once the CT1 has gone off I'll try with a normal socket or box spanner and nip a tad more.

Ta. Found this off cut of 22mm twin wall tube. If I leave the clear tube on and slip it over the top it should equate to the thickness of the plastic insert:

I have absolutely no idea what this has cost me tbh.

Seriously now, any thoughts on this. Pan is loose on the wall, tiles clean and everything masked up but yet to be CT1'd and tightened. 1) Do I let gravity do it's thing and the plastic bits hang down like this: The pan will then sit on the stud over 50mm: 2) However.....at the moment I've done this. Seemed like a good idea at the time! Used a bit of the clear plastic stud protector. But I can see the pan would only really sit on the plastic insert an the end...point load? 3) Third option, I just spin the plastic through 180deg and the pan rests on 30mm of the clear plastic but maybe not the stud? Worst case I take the pan off quickly and go with option 1). @Nickfromwales? Cheers

Cut roof design doc for building control.

This imo is a great bit of software. Can only go up I think to 5m span on the demo version and you can't print (Snipping Tool etc ) but good for outbuildings etc: http://www.runet-software.com/WOODexpress.htm -
I'd drill a hole in the wall centred over the damage with a Starrett cutter through a bit of scrap board. I'd then take the next size Starrett up where the ID matches the OD of the first Starret & hole in the wall. Drill a "plug" from a scrap bit of pb with the slightly bigger Starrett. You want the bit in the middle so ideally do in a pillar drill with the hole saw pilot drill removed. You end up with a perfect fitting "plug". Remove from the hole saw and lightly sand or craft knife the wispy, tufts off. Tidy up the hole in the wall the same way paying particular attention to the rear. Cut two matching small battens slightly longer than the hole is wide. Place one on top of the other and drill a hole through the centre of both. Put a dab of pva on the ends of one bit of batten. Then fit in the hole sandwiching the wall pb. Leave the plug to one side for now. Use a pb screw to keep the two bits of batten together. When the glue is dry undo the screw and remove the outer batten. Stick plug in hole. Near invisible repair. Alternatively pick a nice painting and hang over the hole!

How long before you can back the car into a docking station in the garage and offload a fully charged Sunamp module to supplement the home energy requirements? I've been thinking on those lines for years in order to capture waste heat. X showers per mile!

I noted that in the height of Summer my copper, mains cold in, within the the loft would run with condensation. Would it be worth harvesting that "free" water?

Same here, thicker where possible, thin wall if that's all that'll fit. I've unfortunately got CH pipes, though lagged, running outside the albeit poor thermal envelope. "Byelaw 49" rings a bell.

A lot to be said for the panels plus you can get some that are tile effect.

The toilet humour seems appropriate!

Why did it land then?
