  1. If you have any solvent weld stuff to do I'd get the same brand if you can. I've had some grief mixing and matching with too tight/loose. Not insurmountable but certainly avoidable. On the push fit stuff a can of silicone spray is a must and a chamfer tool v.useful.
  2. I use these for drainage and ducting: https://www.drainagepipe.co.uk
  3. I was talking domestic use. We've seen I think @Bitpipe? constuct a 4000L diy system based on second hand IBC tanks for very little money. I'm on a meter here and that would make a fair difference to me in the Summer. Appreciate not all have the land/space/ability to construct such a system and in that specific case a concrete enclosure for the tanks was incorporated in the build. I was just trying to get across that water is and will become more so just another taxable commidity. It'll be fresh air next! I'd I suspect be able to easily do a borehole given I'm in the bottom of a valley and either side about 100m away are capped boreholes
  4. I had the opportunity to get hold of some out of date Dow stuff but never bothered. Was told it won't set?
  5. Got to be a TOOLSAVE joke there...
  6. It's true about rainwater capture being illegal in some States. I just looked it up and in fact it appears CA repealed previous legislation and allowed it under the Rainwater Recapture Act of 2012. https://www.lexisnexis.com/legalnewsroom/top-emerging-trends/b/emerging-trends-law-blog/posts/california-s-rainwater-recapture-act-lets-state-residents-capture-use-harvested-rainwater
  7. The Simba Shop? There's more to see than can ever be seen...
  8. I would respectfully beg to differ on that. I believe that in parts of the US the storage and harvesting of rainwater for domestic has been made illegal. On the surface this is to help stop the spread of certain water borne disease. I don't believe it's a coincidence that in some areas such as CA water is a scarce resource and this can be used as a form of control by forcing in effect the consumer to buy from approved sources at an ever-increasing price.
  9. 3 coats of satin black Bedec barn paint on my gates (new, pine scaffold boards) and it looks as good as the day it was done. I have NEVER seen a "paint" cover bare wood so well with just the first coat. Expensive though. £50/5L from memory. Dries super quick between coats too. https://bedec.co.uk/bedec_products/barn-paint/
  10. Plastering's a piece of pi$$, it's TILING that's hard!
  11. 72 hours, that's so good to know, I was thinking 24! Would it be detrimental to have go now at nutting up these fixings a tad more ?
  12. I have to run a bead of sealant where the wall tiles come down and meet the floor. The wall tiles sit nominally 1mm off of the floor tiles and the gap has been rammed with grout. First step will be a line of clear CT1 at that junction. When set I'll apply a bead of silicone, probably grey, but how to do this neatly? How big for a start should the bead be, 5mm? More? A rough plan was to say mask 1/4" from the floor and the wall, silicone it, tool the excess off then peel the tape off. Sound like a plan?
  13. Anything to make SWMBO's life easier... Found the vintage, short reach 19mm that I wanted last night but couldn't find in the plumbing bag. As aforementioned the 19mm ratchet spanner that came with the pan (really nice touch I thought) didn't work. Couldn't get enough throw to click the ratchet. Think it was hitting the pan connector. This one should just get things a bit more nipped. Just hope I don't upset the CT1! Not looking forward to putting my not inconsiderable weight on it for the first time. Tbh I'll probably be sh!tting myself...
  14. I was tempted but refrained. Nowhere to wash my hands yet! Did call my daughter in to do the first flush. "Now perhaps you'll start flushing the toilet!" I said.
  15. Minecraft?
  16. Yep. flickr.com Think the free version is limited to 1000 photos / videos...no good for me! Paid for is unlimited. It was free but they got taken over and inevitably decided to cap the service / charge. There's also Tinypic, Postimage I just like the look and feel of Flickr....it's just.....slicker! I got a deal on it but otherwise it's $49.99 a year I think. Figured less than a quid a week was worth it to me as I already had so much on there.
  17. You get a play button on Android...
  18. Have you filled it up? I've ended up paying for Flickr Pro.
  19. ? Aren't they coming up as Flickr videos?
  20. Pipe offcuts: Packed by 5mm: £s of CT1: All baby wiped and de taped: No.1s: & No.2s: It fills up so fast and quiet! The 19mm ratchet didn't really work. Couldn't get enough throw to well...ratchet. Once the CT1 has gone off I'll try with a normal socket or box spanner and nip a tad more.
  21. Ta. Found this off cut of 22mm twin wall tube. If I leave the clear tube on and slip it over the top it should equate to the thickness of the plastic insert:
  22. I have absolutely no idea what this has cost me tbh.
  23. Seriously now, any thoughts on this. Pan is loose on the wall, tiles clean and everything masked up but yet to be CT1'd and tightened. 1) Do I let gravity do it's thing and the plastic bits hang down like this: The pan will then sit on the stud over 50mm: 2) However.....at the moment I've done this. Seemed like a good idea at the time! Used a bit of the clear plastic stud protector. But I can see the pan would only really sit on the plastic insert an the end...point load? 3) Third option, I just spin the plastic through 180deg and the pan rests on 30mm of the clear plastic but maybe not the stud? Worst case I take the pan off quickly and go with option 1). @Nickfromwales? Cheers
  24. This imo is a great bit of software. Can only go up I think to 5m span on the demo version and you can't print (Snipping Tool etc ) but good for outbuildings etc: http://www.runet-software.com/WOODexpress.htm
