Moving into petabytes are we?

The long term plan is to site a UFH manifold under the stairs, pretty much dead centre of the house in what we refer to as the stairs room. As it stands, with untouched original decor this is a video of the stairs room. (Beyond the curtain a study area, the old boot room I re-lined and brought the floor up). The stairs room is a junk room as is. Plan to have v.little floor space and big floor to ceiling storage cupboards. Rough plan is to clear this room entirely. Floor up, dig down and build back up with 150mm of pir. The UFH pipes I was thinking to lay through this room to all the other rooms within ducts within the floor. So this room will have no heating of it's own per se, just the pipes for the other rooms and the manifold and buffer tank under the stairs. The floor construction is strange. Concrete, the colour of plaster & not very thick, maybe 75mm on loose "rubble". As the short clip shows. It looks like it would come up very easily in big lumps. It's 11'x11' this room. So around 11.25m2. If the room was clear that wouldn't take long would it to dig up with me and my lad at it? Barrows go straight through the hall and out the front door. Could be dusty once the slab is up and were into shovelling the dry "rubble". At the moment the downstairs single pipe CH runs just under the floor surface. It's into this I'd break to heat my buffer tank indirectly: Still not sure what the iron pipe crossing the white 22mm by the door is or whether it's live: I ran that plastic length back when I "bypassed" the bathroom. Outside the stairs room it changes to old suspended floor on crumbling bricks and dirt floor. A couple of bits bugging me; should I leave as is the floor under the bottom stair landing? Did think about digging it up and maybe suspending the bottom landing /stairs from the ceiling joists temporarily. If I run ducts for later UFH loops, am I going to be fighting to get the tails of the pex-al-pex pipes through them? Or would a pb, more flexible pipe be better? Should the ducts be insulated where they pass through this room? I'd aim to have a 100mm concrete slab laid to screeding rails on the walls as it worked so well in the bathroom. Maybe CAD up a plan of all the future loops planned? A case of jfdi perhaps? ? Cheers

Building regs are statutory instruments I thought?

So if @pocster goes for the 600mm one, with no joint, then how's about that, then?

I've suggested he join the forum to document his build and get advice unless you know of a specific home cnc builder's forum? He's just changed jobs where his shift pattern gives him 6 days off in a row so he needs to fill his time up somehow! This was his last (abandoned) project: https://thameshighway.wordpress.com/2017/09/30/sad-end-for-oldest-thames-tug-britannia/ "...rather criminally..." ?

When they do totally lose it without an LPA in place then one option is a Court Order of Protection. Hellishly expensive and grief. Going through the process at the mo ref my Mum. All this can be avoided by getting a £29.99 LPA pack from WH Smith whilst they're still compos mentis. What grates a bit here is we got the Smith's pack but my father brushed it off saying my barrister brother knew better / was dealing with it. Now there's a solicitor involved and it's all £££. WTF do I know I'm just "the youngest who likes playing with wires, wood and metal" ? Edit: Even better, it was £9.99: https://www.whsmith.co.uk/products/lawpack-power-of-attorney-kit/9781910143100.html -
Is this the most bonkers bit of building you ever saw?

Found what I think a 3D printed adapter that will allow me to use my 18V Makita batteries on, for a start this Aldi 20V Ferrex multi tool I bought for the princely sum of £7.95 in the clearance section. All in German. I need to buy a 2Ah Ferrex battery to scrounge the contacts from: "Die Kontakte im Adapter stammen aus einem 2.0Ah Ferrexakku" https://www.tinkercad.com/things/fKCaQO3vZn2-makita-18v-ferrexaldi-20v-adapter I really must contact my bank as I'm clearly not getting that (what was now clearly) "too good to be true" 3D printer I ordered from cogkart.CON ? have contacted the seller a couple of times with no response.

I wonder if, no doubt at great expense, you could have discreet sockets in the bi-fold frames and small, replaceable cable loops? If money were no object...

I'd buy a Tesla instead! ?

Going through the whole mixed dementia thing at the mo with my Mum. She has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. I wouldn't recommend it! ? Too late to get LPA done for her (not for want of trying on mine & SWMBOs part). Our views were ignored by my father. Have managed to get LPA for him sorted but at a hugh cost (to him). -
Discuss ? gas/air powered heatpump
Onoff replied to scottishjohn's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
To have one of these I'd first need gas. -
I use a usb logger to record/prove high temperatures in problem electrical panels. Like this: https://cpc.farnell.com/lascar/el-usb-lite/datalogger-usb-temp/dp/IN04739? Thinking you want something "more"?

Yep it can be a huge fight to get your child statemented. Friends eventually managed it though up until then their daughter (off the scale problems) had been in mainstream school . The school weren't particularly supportive as they didn't want to lose them money they got for the kid who was "special" albeit not statemented. We had to fight like Hell ourselves to get help and only found out from the GP we could get psych help thru the school.

No sh!t! When I had a backup down to the cess pit earlier this year I found a pink toothbrush wedged just right to collect wipes etc. I blamed the girl who denied all knowledge!
