  1. I wonder if dowsing works best if barefoot so you're properly grounded?
  2. Funnily enough we had a leak we couldn't find. Got the water board out. East European chap turned up. Couldn't find the leak so pulled out some divining rods saying the water board frowned upon him using them. Pinpointed the leak within 2m over a 50m run. Said he couldn't be sure because of a concrete path. Sure enough the leak was under the path which was full of old chain link fencing and random bits of iron. I'm a believer.
  3. Flint gravel surely would be hard on tyres and any sharp one would puncture them?

    6kw? Lightweight!
  7. I meant to paint the vertical 6" or whatever strip under the render. It can't look any worse that EBT'ing each seam under there.
  8. Why not use a rubberised roofing paint in a neat, black horizontal band along the bottom? It'll get into all the nooks and crannies of suspect seams.
  9. A mate got "conned" with imprinted concrete years ago. The firm sold it on the basis it could be applied down to I think 3mm thick and wouldn't crack due to "fibres". It came with a worthless X years guarantee. The job was crap. Looked good for about a week. Bits of it came unstuck from the original concrete underneath. No recourse to the cowboys who did it of course. When I did mine, above, the concrete was 3 or 4" thick with the pattern pressed into the top 1/2".
  10. 30 odd Czar runner beans potted on 12th April. They've not done much. A couple only just breaking the surface. Hopefully this week's forecast sunny weather will bring them on.
  11. Congratulations on your purchase @Pocster where are you going to put this then? Careful you don't "accidentally" fall on it!
  12. Was it maybe covering the soil pipe at one time and slipped when backfilling?
  13. Put a few extra rivnuts in and you've easy access for a periodic squirts.
  14. Spray inside the box sections with ACF-50 when it's all done.
  15. A raindrop bounces up a nominal 6" when it hits the ground. It's why house DPC is traditionally at 6" off the deck. Maybe clean the area and run overlapping, horizontal, beads of clear CT1, starting at the bottom.
  16. I just put your picture in ChatGPT along with your question: https://chatgpt.com/share/680d3594-29ac-8006-9ae4-c42b6e6afa1f
  17. Sadly he died the other year 😢
  18. Me and my then neighbour:
  19. I did my own imprinted concrete in 1991. A strong concrete mix with lashings of waterproof PVA at 5:1 and red dye. I imprinted it with a pattern made from an old wardrobe that had some tacked on batten for pseudo mortar joints. Once imprinted a dipped a 1/2" brush in black dye and went along the joints. I then dipped a broom head in the black dye and spattered it over the lot. I never sealed it. It still looks like new now:
  20. 😉
  21. The Lidl one is a wet spray so graphite in a carrier. It's good. I usually hold a rag behind if spraying on window hinges. If doing a door, open it ajar and place some rag or something absorbent on the floor. The powder one is this sort of thing that you "puff" in: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/376002352482?
  22. Lidl do a good graphite spray.
