I've a couple of lathe & plaster ceilings to take down. Need a respirator but don't want to pay 3M money. I've been recommended this "clone": https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005857155207.html However people are suggesting I then use genuine 3M filters in it. However I've also found these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ANUNU-Cartridges-Respirator-Chemical-Compatible/dp/B0B68R61L8?ref_=dslp_ap_dp Thoughts? Cheers

@SteamyTea was it you who mentioned the term I think "wind washing"? On the lines that cold air blowing around the cavity i.e the other side of the plasterboard just strips it of heat?

Did they use cavity closers around the windows?

After this point, I'm assuming aside from not foaming the gaps, that they didn't then foil tape over the timber joists so that and the foil on the PIR became an airtight membrane?

You could hide it with coving.....

Sounds like a parallel of my place. A concrete path all around. Pretty sure the footings bricks/blocks have a gaps in them. Won't know until I have the paths up.

Cut the boards with an angle either side so they "fit" but there's a gap either side closest to the face of the joists. Ditto where joints butt up. Then spray the gaps lightly with water in a plant sprayer and fill with Illbrück FM330 expanding foam which is about the best you can get and super flexible as well as airtight. Cut the set foam flush and repair the foil faces with silver tape. If you foil over the joist faces too that can act as a vcl. You need ideally a 50mm ventilation gap between the top of the boards and underside of the "roofing felt". Don't block any cross ventilation.
