  1. Interesting, I found this in that document Only the first installation of any wind turbine would be permitted development, and only if there is no existing air source heat pump at the property. why would an existing ASHP make a difference?
  2. Nah, Luddite me. I don’t do “Tech”.
  3. I agree, it takes a buildhubber to spot these mistakes, it’s been signed off so no problem eh?.
  4. Yet you said this………
  5. So you got this to tell you if she is having a dump or a Shower? 🤷‍♂️
  6. Oh yes, but softened water is not so good for consumption, I am sure the small amount of water consumed from a basin tap is minimal (but we are all different).
  7. I agree, DPC 150mm up. I too installed two DPC,s like @Moonshine, parhaps water seal the bottom 300mm of render 🤷‍♂️
  8. Mine was about £250 in 2018.
  9. Receipt clearly states “pack of 250, quantity 5” 🤷‍♂️
  10. Well, when I have done a cut roof I use the “template” one and make sure it fits everywhere first, if you offer it up and it’s 10mm out make that adjustment for that one (not that any of mine were out of course 🙄)
  11. My version is “Crayon aided design” 🤣
  12. I tend to agree, I cut what’s necessary on the first one (guessanology! ) then copy it for the rest.
  13. Most of us are the same (but it’s worrying why he wants to know how many are in the bathroom when he only lives with his wife 🤷‍♂️)
  14. Yes we had the same ASHP, single outgoing temp (mine set to 48’ for DHW and buffer) and blended down on the UFH manifold to 24’. (£850 on EBay)
  15. +1 to the above, I have 200mm insulation under my UFH 🤷‍♂️
  16. Why am I putting in an ashp in a passive house? yes, why are you? for me it was a cheap (EBay and self instal) way of getting DHW and providing UFH with a cop of nearly 4 in a well insulated house. If you don’t want to then don't, it’s working out the alternatives I guess. Plenty of of alternatives available.
  17. IMO that screen needs to come off, for water to “pour through” rather than be damp something is seriously wrong.
  18. But an ASHP will do DHW as well with a COP of 3 - 4.
  19. Where they are not installed correctly for a passive house. Bollocks. Because people here have proved they work if designed properly 🤷‍♂️(I know mine did).
  20. How are you going to bury/protect all the cct wiring in that block wall?
  21. Frankly you just need to play with it and find out what each one does, those Allen bolts usually are off centre so as you turn them they push the door “around” till the gaps are what you want.
  22. Perhaps i am getting lazy (old) but the thought of lumping concrete about for a garden room does not appeal when ground screws are an option, yes no good for a garage etc but IMO perfect for a garden room. 🤷‍♂️
  23. I was considering a summer house on a slope here and using ground screws to anchor it and create lift on the low side plus no foundations really appeal.
