Thanks @Nickfromwales , which of the two mapei adhesives above would you use (the cheaper one is on special offer). p.s. I noticed you answered this about 4am, do you suffer from lack of sleep?

I used floor paint and it looks good too.
-
I did the same as Jeremy and we are also very pleased with ours.
-
Yes I did, got them made locally and they are very good, oak and spray painted, double glazed .
-
Thats what I thought, my dad would have said “spoil a ship for a ha,peth of tar”. Which adhesive would you use? (one is on special offer ?) i did read read on a Tiler’s forum about problems using PVA as a sealer.

It is quite dusty, I keep sweeping it and more dust appears.
-
I have used rapid set before, I just use small batches. It’s the adhesive and sealer I am trying to get right.

As an addition to this thread I am about to start tiling my conservatory floor and I am a bit paranoid about getting it right (this time), I am using 300mm square porcelain tiles. The concrete floor is well dry (3 months). I am thinking of using mapei rapid set, Screwfix do this https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-floor-wall-tile-adhesive-grey-20kg/4367d#product_additional_details_container or https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-rapid-set-adhesive-grey-20kg/29634 and I guess use this for the floor sealer https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-primer-g-5kg/5309p. Can the collective on here give any recommendations please.

I read on the other thread about the possibility of a generated amount payment after the FIT finishes, this will help the payback period.

? (jealous face).

@ProDave that would make a good chicken shed ?just needs some sides and a door. ?
-
@deuce22, glad it’s worked out for you, I would love a watercourse through mine, nice feature. ?

Ha, I did this with cordless drills, they just refund you and give you a new one with a new quarentee ?. I even dropped one once and the gearbox snapped, all the gears fell out. I super glued it back to gether and took it back showing that the motor ran but the Chuck didn’t move , cheeky eh!.

Yes, I am going to claim for mine ?
-
+1, I always use dry ridge systems, crazy not to IMO.
-
I picked up my builders 9” angle grinder to save getting mine out and I really hurt my wrist as it didn’t have a soft start like mine ?
-
I managed ok in my static (only because I left SWMBO back in Bristol ?).
-
I have had numerous cheap SDS drills in the past, some lasting longer than others but with my new build I treated myself to a de Walt and cannot fault it. Also I bought a DeWalt cordless for this build and I am very glad I did. You get what you pay for.

We have a roller shutter door with a Rubber seal at the bottom and a 500mm overhanging roof but if it rains and is windy (mostly here) the rain drives under the seal. I wish I had sloped the concrete floor from the door down to the drive a bit. The drive is being tarmaced soon and it will have a slope away from the door. To cure the door problem I am going to cut a floor slot and drop in a piece of flat steel on edge for the rubber seal to sit on/in front of.

Thats exactly what I said to er indoors, great for festivals etc I suppose. Had a neighbour who put a woodburner in his static and when he moved away had a hell of a problem finding someone, even on a low loader who would shift an “altered” caravan. Did you see the other one, a cattle truck turned into a mobile home for his mother and he had to take his HGV test to drive the truck he put it on (and the truck didn’t fit it properly )

Before I break my legs, some advice please...

Don’t try to carry kit up a ladder, I did and it was a mistake. So much hard work and dangerous I wish now that I put up temp stairs of some sort. -

Actually I would use the pallets, stacked they are very solid and simple to add a handrail. But I am very tight ?. -
Thanks Jeremy, will order a couple now. Regarding the above, this is wired for and on my extensive “yet to do list”? (but I better finish SWMBO wardrobe first).

It’s come to my attention that the pull switch in the bathroom is very noisy, CLUNK, CLUNK. Did not notice it before as we use the en suite normally. Can anyone recommend a make of pull switch that is quiet please?
