When I had a lekky cable pulled in on a previous build the guys used talcum powder down the duct to ease the pull.

Planning Appeals - Statement of Case Examples
joe90 replied to phykell's topic in Planning Permission
My native language IS English and I struggle with them. 𤪠I would want to debate this with the planners but you can never get them to even answer the phone. -
Sorry Gus I disagree, TELL the builders to build as designed by the SE.
-
IMO itâs not about you being a perfectionist itâs about workers being able to read and do their job properly (cowboys!!!!) get them to add/change them to the schedule.

Itâs called âgut feelingâ or âflying by the seat of your pantsâ đ¤Ł

I have installed fan coils in kitchens where wall space was not there fir radiators, fitted in the kickboards.
-
Which is why I didnât do lots of calculations, 2d glazing, attention to detail (airtightness) but nothing over the top, ASHP as no gas available. Easy to build and very comfortable and heating costs still far lower than a ânormalâ house đ¤ˇââď¸

Planning Appeals - Statement of Case Examples

With a previous loft conversion of mine Bristol City Planners deemed dormers were to be âsubservientâ to the main roof (I.e. dormer ridge below house ridge). https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/subordinate -
The problem with narrow timber construction is diminished insulstion and we here are all about insulation insulation insulation. Is saving a couple of inches worth the heating costs forever?.

Welcome to THE forum, yes we are a very friendly bunch with oodles of knowledge, great to have a friendly SE onboard, remember there is no such thing as a stupid question, stupid is not asking and assuming. đ

When I did my appeal I looked into compensation and found that if the LPA donât abide by procedure you can claim compensation, however you canât claim if theirâ interpretation â is different. Might be worth looking into.

It has wide feet so I doubt it, mine was square at 4ft and steel, much cheaper than aluminium ones. https://www.ladders-999.co.uk/domestic-steel-towers.html

The rain splash wonât be a problem on the bifolds themselves but will be on the brickwork. An Atco drain does not stop rain splash just diverts water away from the wall. Best talk to your BCO about what he wants to enable sign off.

I had a tower like that for years and very handy for a great number of jobs, however itâs safer to use a ladder as well to climb it.

I was told this by my decorator too.

Too clinical for me, white is for ceilings đ

Well I am a magnolia fan, all one colour will make it feel bigger, bring colour into the room with furniture, curtains etc, I believe you need to live in a room for a while before changing wall colours.
-
As said above if no one complains the LPA wonât bother about it IMO. If itâs repaired as was ânothing to see hereâ ! New owners using as previous ones did. đ¤ˇââď¸

The only problem we had was a gable wall blowing down in high winds two nights in a row, however fixed price for shell from builder đ. I am renown for being âmr organisedâ and I think that level of organisation precluded any âunforeseenâ problems. Builder was great to work with as I was doing a lot of the work along side them. -
What is allowed to be left on a building site?
joe90 replied to Vijay's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
@Vijay mate, stop worrying, let the council do their worst, tidy a bit if you want too but until the council tell you whatâs not right (if anything) you are floundering in the dark. -
But itâs continuing use is a workshop!!!!

I donât, I would repair it as near original as possible and carry on using it like the previous owners, only if someone complains will the LPA get involved then you can say it was repaired and continual use.
