  1. Aw thanks @Bozza.
  2. Yes I had to get an SE,s input for a steel that was needed.
  3. Is there any sign of damp on the stack in the loft?
  4. From the photo the bottom of the white facia is only about 30mm below the inside timber 🤷‍♂️
  5. But @gaz_moose says he does not have room for the 300mm 🤷‍♂️
  6. Get the salesman round, he will measure up (his responsibility) and tell you the best way to deal with the slight slope of the roof ( tapered piece of wood making the doorway square 🤷‍♂️)
  7. Only if you lick them 🤣seriously tho as you say they are out there in public but I would not use them in my garden with young children about.
  8. I would want to clean that mortar off and see what the bricks orientation are and if they are supported at all before deciding how to proceed
  9. Are the grey blocks supported in/by the back wall? If so just drill through new front bricks into the grey blocks and drive re bar through them both.
  10. Very interesting, yes the end spindles are newer and two new ones among what appear to be original ones. I wonder if the original landing was at 45’ like the floor would suggest. You mentioned neighbours houses, can you ask to compare what they have?
  11. Not heard that before? What kind of pins? If this is to support the grey blocks either side I would have put angle iron into the back wall and over your new lintel, might be difficult now tho.
  12. +1, I buried my pump house and used sound absorbing foam in the box and it was very quiet, i would bet it was quieter than a gearbox and bunch of gears in the smelly stuff.
  13. My door above had no gap at all, rubber bump strip on the bottom formed a good seal and sides in a draft proof U section. With My recent single Garage I picked a period type up and over, I had to add a rubber strip on the bottom to make more airtight but no gaps otherwise, good mechanics and more in keeping with the garage type.
  14. However I designed my build with no architect input and completely happy with everything. I think it depends on how sure you are with your requirements.
  15. It only rattled in very high winds (it was very wide at 16ft) it did keep the weather out. Yes they require 300mm head height for the roller, if you don’t have this 300mm consider a sectional door that slides above the garage. Yes I would buy from them again, a part failed and a new part was sent straight away.
  16. Yes I had a large (16ft) wide roller shutter door for them, very pleased with it and installed it myself with help from a friend.
  17. Sorry didn’t get back to you, I will in the morning when I get home (honest) 🙄But I just noticed you have a solution .
  18. It’s your wife that should be called badger badger 🤣
  19. Might have been wise to let the oak “settle” before glazing.
  20. Are you sure? A large static would be so much easier and probably cheaper, and leave you to spend your energies on house building . @ProDave got permission to keep his on site after the build 🤷‍♂️
  21. Fine IF you can getaway with it.
  22. Yes, but I would too.
  23. Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring ownership of a property from the seller to the buyer. The process ensures that the buyer acquires a valid title to the property and that the transfer of ownership is legally binding.
  24. But we hear so often that planers are not willing to engage 🤷‍♂️and that’s been my experience more than once.
