  1. Actually all my tapes are the same make (fat max) so no errors 🤞
  2. When I retired I had 10 tape measures, I hated not finding one and still have about 6 😎
  3. The only part of the above kit I am not happy with is the treated timber sole plate onto the concrete fooor. Other stick built garages ask fir a single brick with DPC fir the sole plate to rest on. I am considering using plastic roofing battens instead of their treated timber to go on the floor. It wood be a shame for the sole plate to rot out and be very difficult to replace without demolishing the whole thing.
  4. HOWEVER, when I lived in Shropshire I knew a REAL gypsy and he was as honest as the day was long, he bought some scrap off me and had no change so I told him “ you owe me a Pound,” I bumped into him a year later and remembered and insisted he paid me that pound. 🤷‍♂️.
  5. Just read the Facebook page and they think they were travellers, which key fits any lock.? A pikey
  6. Any chance we can name and shame these scrotes .?
  7. Access to and overheating of immersion and control gear can be a problem with EPS beads!
  8. Whoever did that needs stringing up, bastards!
  9. I discharge my treatment plant and surface water to a ditch that I informed them that was flowing 6 months of the year, no one actually checked it tho 🤷‍♂️.
  10. The trust pilot reviews are all good (fir what they are worth).
  11. With most “log cabin” type builds when the logs shrink (which they will) the building gets slightly shorter, no vertical timbers to stop it. The windows and door frames have sliding fixtures and gaps at the top to allow shrinkage to happen without gaps opening up.
  12. Can you share the manufacturer?
  13. The heavier the door the better the sound insulating value but don’t lower the wall insulation to match the door!.
  14. However, it also says….. Whether age influences the readiness to accept new ideas has been empirically criticised. In the case of acceptance of evolution in the years after Darwin's On the Origin of Species, age was a minor factor.[2] On a more specialized scale, it also was a weak factor in accepting cliometrics.[7] A study of when different geologists accepted plate tectonics found that older scientists actually adopted it sooner than younger scientists.[8] However, a more recent study on life science researchers found that following the deaths of preeminent researchers, publications by their collaborators rapidly declined while the activity of non-collaborators and the number of new researchers entering their field rose.[9]
  15. I disagree 🤷‍♂️
  16. With my planning fight (which I won 🤣) we had bats in the area and after the bungalow burnt down the ecologist suggested bat boxes in the trees till the build was finished. I didn’t want bat boxes in the house and suggested that as I was building the workshop/garage first I incorporate bat boxes in the ridge of that and the ecologist said they were sufficient for the whole site, however the planners still said they wanted them in the house as well. Well I argued in my appeal that the ecologist was more qualified than the planner to decide such matters, so I won on that point as well 👍
  17. I certainly would.
  18. Foundations will be deep and tricky because of the ground build up (although I would prefer it) laying a slab and timber build on top a lot less work.
  19. No, 36 sq m is a full double garage, however for me it’s fir my classic car and motorbike so 1 1/2 garage really.
  20. Well my new property I am about to buy in the Forest of Dean has a small wood stove, talking to the seller he tells me that as a resident of the Forest you are allowed to take any fallen timber that’s no bigger (around) than your arm fir your own consumption and there is so much no body fights over it. Solar panels would be no good for me unless I bought batteries as I have no hot water tank to store excess and my main consumption is during dark hours.
  21. When I worked fir BT donkeys years ago I managed to get a 16ft pole on the roof rack of my Ford Corsair 😱
  22. Can the adjustable legs not be extended 16mm? I used to fit kitchens and did this often when the customer didn’t tile under the units 🤷‍♂️.
