You you mean the flat roof has ponding or the gutter hangs on to water?. How are you going to alter the fall on a moulded fibreglass roof?

Advice needed on electric UFH idea (outbuilding)
joe90 replied to anarres's topic in Underfloor Heating
Oh yes, I put a toilet in my last garage, under permitted development. In my previous garage I put a 110 soil pipe in ready fir a toilet but never got around to it again under PD (And that 45’ down pipe looks pants IMO) just saying 🤷♂️ -
+1, keeping the chain sharp by just a little sharpening every now and again keeps it most efficient, no point in running it into the ground and needing a chain replacement, just makes it hard work and overworking the rest of the machine.

A friend of mine had red tarmac with a brick frame around it for his drive, definitely prettier than the black stuff with no edge.
-
That I don’t know, however my brother in law had a resin drive done on another house and he pointed out a couple of areas where people with power steering had torn the surface (steering without moving), he was not very impressed.

I added this as an edit after you had posted your reply.

Ok smarty pants, I got the wording wrong (but means much the same thing) “Octopus Energy Group is a British renewable energy group specialising in sustainable energy. It was founded in 2015 with the backing of British fund management company Octopus Group, a British asset management company. ”. 😉

Yes, an old neighbour (previous house) had imprinted drive (cobbles) and it looked really good even after about 10 years, my brother in law had it fir around his garden swimming pool (I prepped the shuttering) and he is the most OCD person I know (a nightmare to work for) and he (and I ) were very impressed with the result (and no weeding) 👍 I am seriously considering it for my latest little cottage drive.

No, I don’t have a smart meter here or my previous house (less than 6 weeks ago). Give them a ring, their very helpful (and in this country,!).
-
I have been with Octopus for my last house and this one and can’t fault them for customer service and reasonable prices, if you want to change to them I can give you a referral and get £50 off your first bill. 👍 (And they only buy green energy).

And don’t forget to file the depth gauge between the teeth otherwise you’re sharp teeth won’t be able to reach the wood 🤷♂️

Perhaps it’s the devises we’re using, I cannot see any difference (and I have excellent colour vision) we once picked a colour paint for our windows on our build on an iPad sample and it was completely different when it arrived, all painted up, too late 🤯

Understanding bookcases: how shallow and tall can they be?
joe90 replied to Garald's topic in General Joinery
I built my own bookcase over 2m tall and only 200mm deep and it’s solid and stable, -
Detached Garage Outbuilding - Part L Building Regs

I disagree, I have an infared heater above my bench in case it’s very cold if I am standing there, completely different from a heated building. Frankly I think the “engineer” and BI are taking the OP for a ride. -

That’s a question @mac_1 should be asking his engineer.? -

Wow, I can understand a non dwelling being say an office or somewhere where people work and needing heat should be insulated but a shed or garage for storage only? Mad. -

You can adjust the humidity settings , look on Utube. -
IMO I think #2 shows the principle elevation, it faces the road (which means you can use PD) it talks about the principle elevation (the singular), I think #3 is elevations (plural) which is not mentioned in the rules 🤷♂️

Tell him what he sent you is for a dwelling (which means something you live in, not a garage), it says so in the top line. I hope your not paying for this crap advise, I would escalate to someone more senior (or sack him 🤷♂️) -

joe90 replied to mac_1's topic in Building Regulations
Part L covers dwellings, not garages Point out that it’s a GARAGE not a dwelling so part L does not apply (he should know that, that would worry me about his competence). -

You state it’s a garage so why cavity and bi folds , future change of use 🤷♂️, I know, it’s for your prestige classic car, you can take it out on the street (hence the roller shutter door) or sit and look at it from the house/garden (hence the bifolds) 🤣.
