  1. If it’s a new house there should be snagging by the builder surely.?
  2. That’s what you must concentrate on, re invention is good, life,s needs change with time.
  3. Sounds good to me 👍
  4. Welcome, interesting project please share 👍
  5. There has to be a discussion about £££ compensation as you had to re do the work AND replacing the pipe. 🤔
  6. My old Dad, bless him, said you can prove black is white with statistics 🤷‍♂️ (so take them with a pinch of salt).
  7. Steel mesh already on site (advised by our tame on forum SE).
  8. Most of us don’t have one of those telly tubby designs 🤣
  9. The sub base was a car park for 10 years and very compact so minimal movement there I guess, sand compressed a fair bit. I am tempted to tread the rebar mesh in after tamping as it being down on chairs (bricks) makes getting on it difficult 🤔. I do have paths that need repairing so might dig them out ready, I can always mix concrete afterwards if none left over.
  10. +1, my builder used hooks and a far better method in my opinion (and you can get broken slates out and replace them!).
  11. Oh yes, long timber across shuttering (which will be used fir tamping). Fairly flat. It only comes in half meter load sizes and I can afford to be short.
  12. 6m x 4mx 150mm thick = 3.6 cu m + 10% = 3.96 cu m (ordering 4 cu m) 🤔
  13. Not putting DPM down till nearer pour day, end of next week, so it does not fill with water when it rains.
  14. Oh yes, I have added approx 10% (as I can’t afford to be short) and have a space for it, and washout 👍
  15. Looking good, question, as the truck only has 3 shutes it only reaches half way over my 6 meter long slab, minimix offers “free flowing concrete” sound much easier to push to the back of the slab, any downsides?
  16. And Bristol, including non motor home vans being lived in.
  17. Welcome, lots of real world knowledge here rather than salesman spin.
  18. My rental (I was a landlord) became a first time buyer house! So one off the rental market but one off the “waiting to buy” market.
  19. That’s been happening a lot in Bristol over the years, the BT office block I used to work in is all flats and the vehicle depot flattened for a housing estate.
  20. Sorry didn’t see this, copper.
  21. I think I will move the PRV that I fitted to the kitchen tap and outside tap only to the incoming supply and find a balance of pressure that gives a good shower but controllable elsewhere, I have noticed when the loo finishes filling there is a real thump within the pipe work. Yes I agree 👍.
  22. That makes sense, tried fast and slow but it does not happen all the time so difficult to see. Yes when I turn it off fast there is an audible click from the boiler. Never heard of an “anti thump” device, I suppose it’s similar to water hammer 🤷‍♂️
  23. To be more specific, the boiler fires up briefly when I turn the sink cold water tap off. I do have high water pressure, reduced to the kitchen tap and outside tap but nearly 8 bar everywhere else (brilliant shower 🤔). Do I need to reduce the pressure elsewhere?
  24. No roof space for a lift (I will stick with axle stands and ramps).
  25. I am sure that relates to a business working environment not a private property 🤷‍♂️
