  1. Certainly cheaper.
  2. That would be nice! Well beyond my capabilities!!
  3. I think j Harris was talking about this a couple of years ago. I seriously considered having a go, but then I remembered I’m a bit of a Luddite and it would end up in the ‘job for tomorrow’ box.
  4. nice ?... just ordered a few for some basic trials on my system. Thanks
  5. Nice. I fancy doing the same on my system to see if I can ‘optimise’ it. Are those probes specific for pipes or just cheapy Amazon type jobbies?
  6. Camlocs are your friend here then. You’ll be like a one man F1 team for boilers. 1) Bathroom.
  7. If that’s the case leave it open. Would it not keep the chill from the room and reduce the heat loss impact from the adjoining room? More importantly... Stop avoiding the proper jobs you need to get done. Also you will need to access the pipes time and again and will curse the day you boxed it all in. ?
  8. I would get someone in to look at that wiring centre as PeterW says. It’s definitely less than ideal. I also second what prodave says about it being wired in parallel instead of in series. looks like it should be an quick easy fix tho... assuming the hive and stat are both wired into that wiring centre.
  9. Doesn’t look like it will stop much of a draft tho! ?
  10. Absolutely shiret! but to be fair, you get what you pay for... and the shed was cheap.
  11. No it’s not unfortunately. It was from wickes, made by Shires (who, from my experience, have shocking customer service).
  12. You are correct, it came with the crapist felt known to mankind, it resembled tissue paper. I was thinking to use some epdm on it.
  13. Haha. I had to put something down as I put PIR on the floor too. So I got the cheapest laminate flooring I could find (B&M home store).
  14. It’s really difficult to understand what some of the pics are showing. But I can see lots of corners that are sticking up, flapping about in the wind. Which is clearly unacceptable. In addition, the bottom corner from the vertical to the lower roof, there is a real shoddy cut leaving it open to weather and probably ripping over time. note: I am in no way any kind of building professional... I have just done my own epdm roof in the past. It’s not that difficult to get right if you plan it properly and if you don’t rush.
  15. Crikey! They’ll be fun to lay! Sorry, I’ve got no advice on the best way to lay those monsters!
  16. Oh and the sides of the roof should have slightly raised slopes (kerbs) to ensure water falls to the lowest edge (where the gutter is).
  17. It’s should have a drip edge fitted shouldn’t it? Something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251194139964 google epdm drip edge and you will see plenty of examples. They are 2 part systems. I bits gets fixed to the edge of the roof and the rubber is laid over it and tucked in. The second part should just clip in to the first. Securing the edge of the roof and ensuring the water drips away from the facia into the gutter.
  18. some work in progress photos. Haven’t got any of it as it currently is. Will get some tomorrow.
  19. I thought it was only fair that I reported back on my shed office. I bought a cheap potting shed. Went mad with the wood treatment to give it the best chance of repelling water, lined it with 40mm PIR, boarded it with 6mm ply. Power is currently by extension lead as I am just waiting for the electrician to connect the consumer unit. Cost about £900-£1000 in total. It’s south facing and so warms up quickly in the sun on these cooler mornings (it’s been frosty outside). If it’s a bit nippy I turn the oil radiator on for 10mins and it says warm for the rest of the day. So from my perspective it’s worked out really well, great place to work and have video conferences without being disturbed. Thanks for the advice ?
  20. bowchicawowow!
  21. Not necessarily... I had a window directly above the one where mine was leaking, exactly the same width too. Your upper window is quite narrow so the water could track past it quite easily. I have just flashed back to when I lived in a barn conversion and the gable end was facing the driving rain which penetrated the stone and brought damp inside. We had to waterproof spray the whole gable end to stop it.
  22. You’ve got very sharp crayons ?!
  23. Don’t think much of the grout tho, might look ok when it’s finished. ? The alignment of the tiles to the recess is amazing. But a lot of effort for somewhere to collect water and dirt.
  24. From what? This is your own home not a hmo isn’t it?
  25. I’m not convinced by any edging trim. It just makes me think that the tiler couldn’t do a decent enough job. I think it might detract from your rather highend finish that you are working towards. But that might be because I’ve only seen trim on shite jobs. ?‍♂️
