No one has asked me that, not to say it has not been covered by builders but no one has mentioned it to me and my doors will be going on soon so following with interest...timely post for me!

@Declan52 mine were not the mass market ones. It was a building that was newly converted from a victorian school. It was a heritage conservation project and the windows were a special commission.....the project features on their website in the commercial section.....the conversion formed a number of 3 storey houses that sold for over £700k each. The windows were a major job and a first for Munster in meeting the quality and standards required while still looking like the original sashes to meet the needs of the historic building officer. The windows looked quite magnificent and in keeping with the proportion of the rooms...I had 15ft high ceilings in my sitting room. They were a triumph of style and were high quality spec just not up to the same standard on the finish with niggling issues that they were slow to attend to as most of their repair men were occupied on the mass market jobs.

We had Munster in a previous property (installed by builder) they looked great they were replica Victorian sashes and mostly the windows were ok but getting them out for repairs (we had a lot of issues in first few months) was an absolute nightmare. They were difficult and unreliable and we were less than 10 miles from their English HQ near Stratford upon Avon. We did ask them to quote for this build ... not sure why really......anyhow they were just as much of a nightmare trying to get a quote out of them so we gave up eventually, probably for the best. @dogman On the glazing bars.......ours fell off too. They were just held on with little bits of velcro type stuff and the fitter who came out to repair gave me bag full to keep and said they fall off all the time just stick them back on yourself!

I have just checked our engineering details for the slab and nowhere is there mention of S2 or 3 or S anything sorry.
-
Sorry I don 't even understand what S2 or S3 is. Our slab was part of our frame package.

My previous neighbours had a wood burner which belched out all winter. It made life very difficult for me and influenced our decision to sell after 30 years. This rented house is so draughty (1980’s Bovis) that heat on full and jumpers is the way we live. For all the ‘airflow’ in this leaky house I still find the sitting room impossible to be in without the air cleaner running, it is on auto and runs 24/7. Sounds like your wife has a similar collection of ‘pets’ to me. Sometimes life is tough with lungs that are compromised. and you ‘don’t look sick’. Hope she can evict her unwanted tenants soon.

@MikeGrahamT21it is something that keeps me awake at night worrying. I spent months researching the MVHR, I chose the one I did because it seemed to be the best in terms of ‘clean’ in the system. Water/condensation in the pipes was an area I spent ages on. I dont think I looked at anything about the area of the system currently under discussion...........I have the Robbens Frankische system which seemed to be the best for my needs on health.....I do so hope it is, to have built a very expensive white elephant in terms of MVHR/health would be almost too much to bear after the trials of the last 2 years. MVHR is due to be commissioned in the next few weeks. I have had similar infections in my lungs and am trying to build my clean air bubble to help with health. I feel for your wife I know only too well what an absolute hell it is to go through. Sending her my best wishes.

@Dreadnaught this house is a black hole for electrics and IT. The voda signal booster has been ruined by voltage surges I am told. I think the whole place needs a rewire but thats a different matter. The house is solid brick and block Bovis home circa 1980 and is on a private road that runs through a golf course so it has some limitations and challenges. Even the local MP has been involved in petitioning to get BT to put the fast service in to this road - the BT super service is half a mile away at the main road....they wont bring it down here. I get no texts without the vodaphone suresignal booster as zero bars in house without it I occasionally see a fleeting bar but rarely......the wifi calling does not support texts Voda have told me that. I have two broadband connections installed and operational in this place one is a gigaclear fibre and the other is BT. The BT is egg timer slow even though I pay for superfast they admit they cannot provide it but if I went down to the normal package it would be so slow we would be back in the dark ages....I have kept it on because amongst other things I would lose my email address if I cancelled it. I have a new domain name bought and ready for the new house so I can rid myself of BT but not had time to set up the mailboxes yet. The other connection is the gigaclear fibre which came into the road a few months ago and I had it installed in the hope it would help with the problems with BT service. It is great in the room where the hub is but it does not work outside that room without the extenders. I have my mac plugged into a top of the range devolo extender with an ethernet cable and that gives me a decent speed. Beyond that all comms in this place are a challenge. I hope I only have a another couple of months here! -

@Dreadnaught thank you . I have wifi calling enabled on my iphone via vodaphone too and yes it is worthwhile. It is no good for texts though and the wifi in this house is rubbish I only get wifi calling in certain parts of the house I have extenders all around the place, the wi fi calling doesnt operate through the devolo wifi extenders. Wi fi range may be better at the new house. -

I cannot use most household cleaning products due to chemicals. I have a very limited range of things I can tolerate and use a lot of old fashioned natural methods, lemon, vinegar, bicarb etc. Fortunately I can tolerate the steam mop for cleaning and sanitising floors without chemicals. Our modern life has a lot be grateful for and a lot to answer for too! -

Thank you. I think in that case I will get a new Vodaphone one for here and give it a whirl at the new house when the time comes, it needs a broadband connection to work so will have to wait until BT eventually get their act together.......a whole other story currently in progress...... The Vodaphone one I had has worked so well for so long I had almost forgotten about it until a few days ago when suddenly things on the mobile became very tricky.
