Mine was like a sieve when they came to do the air test mainly down to the windows not being fitted properly. We were under pressure to get the air test done so mbc could get finished and paid. All they did to resolve the many leaks in my building was put tape over the gaps and tell me I should get it sorted..........it was many many months later before I was able to resolve the window issue and get the place airtight, had a fab cert though. The air test people are not programmed for ‘failure’ you will get your cert to the contracted level or better if you have holes/gaps they will temp tape them to get the result and then you will need to sort it out properly afterwards.

nothing else in there it is the plant room. The pipe that runs around the wall is I think the condensate pipe from the boiler which drains into that waste rather than externally.

Yes I have some spare in the garage can take a pic if you like. It give a really nice finish to the top of the window.

I went for a vertical board with a hidden fixing gives a bit of an impression of shadow gap from a distance. I have the black mesh behind too. I didnt want evey thing in town setting up home in my walls plus its better as rain screen not to have open I was told. I did a last minute swerve from cedar to larch as fell in love with this particular one. Got mine from Vincent timber in Birmingham and they have a good web site and helpful on phone too. Ironic really I searched the Uk for cladding and finally found it 20 miles down the road. Something I highly recommend ...and it was suggested by my ace carpenter is the aluminium ‘head’ cladding over windows. He said if just left as timber it woudl be the bit that deteriorated first and this gave it some shelter. Looks good with the windows too. We got the company who made our aluminium trims around the eps to fabricate them.

There is no shelf that is the underside of mvhr unit. I have to lie on floor to get underneath to get at pipe and I find it really difficult to do especially in confined space. I have Profi air 250 frankische unit

Not sealed with anything just one pipe inside another and all very loose, it worries me every time I have to unscrew the u bit I expect the whole thing to fall apart. Thank you

its all very loose and rickety and the constant taking off of the u bit isnt helping. This was mvhr installer who did this not bodger plumber of under sink waste fame!

Have nothing to cut with...maybe I need to buy a hacksaw or something. Im worried about messing the whole thing up!

ah...will investigate. I'm not good if it means cutting pipe though.

Thank you...I take it the 32/40 is the diameter of the pipe? Looking at them they are just one straight piece of pipe, any idea how I get that to fit my uneven 'u'?

My MVHR/UFH installer has still not been back to sort out issues etc, months later. One of the things he needs to sort out is the waste from MVHR which keeps drying out and pumping sewage smells around the house. I am sick to death of getting on my hands and knees under this unit every few days and filling the trap with water. I think it needs a water less trap. Can anyone point me to the one I need to buy please...making a trip to Screwfix tomorrow so could pick one up there if they had them. I have looked and can't work out what I need....will be fitting it myself too. Pics of existing attached. Thank you for any help advice you can give.

@ProDave that was my though too which is why when i needed something pdq and cheap I thought they would be a temp option. They may well be temp and we will use runners for alternative doors in time but at the mo I am impressed at how good they are for the money, they dont scream paper chipboard near real oak they work ok. Far better than I thought. If you need a budget option for a few years I would go for these.

In our 2nd & 3rd bedrooms we used cheap as chips Howdens sliders and they are surprisingly good...I wanted a big mirror door too as smaller bedrooms so mirror good for bouncing the light but you can have any configuration of solid/mirror. I chose Oak finish to blend with our interior doors. We just built an extra bit of stud wall to create the alcove. No architraves clean line to plaster edge and floor runners are glued down to tiles so floor runs underneath. Carpenter made a good heavy weight shelf and we fitted rails under that. Even weight of my stuff is not going to make that collapse! Will fit out the other bits as and when, what we have done is vat reclaimable....I hope so anyway its gone in for the claim. I thought they would just be a stop gap solution but they look really good and very capacious.

I did not have German kitchen...thought I would (liked Siematic) but when it came to it I wanted more of a design edge than the Germans could offer so have Italian, always knew I would have Spanish (Porcelanosa) tiles and sanitary ware, had before so knew what I wanted. I have had Villeroy & Boch bathrooms too and they are nice (german).
