  1. @JSHarris thank you! I have a bunch of allen keys somewhere will look them out.
  2. There are 6 of these and when I tried a few months ago I couldnt find anything to fit them. Will have to get my toolbox out and try again
  3. I cant take cover off unit ....its large ......the wnole of the front....and probably heavy and only has those special rivet sort of screws that dont fit a screwdriver.... I would like to see inside to get an idea of what periodic sloshing noise is.
  4. Ive got the. neohub which works on wireless network and wireless room stats which is partly why I asked. Neohub was a bugger to get up and working properly. but once it got sorted it works well on phone or ipad.
  5. I gave a good bottle of red wine
  6. On please dont say that! My friend was burgled last week, 10am in the morning, they rammed her gates (same gates as me) and smashed the front door in (long handle style but timber not ali). They broke open her safe and amongst other things stole the pendant and earings made from her husbands ashes. They couldnt get the Tesla out and damaged the porsche trying to get at it. Complete nightmare for her on her own with only a teenage daughter in her isolated house. Thank goodness she was out when they struck. My door with long handle seems to have a lot of locks that shoot out when key turned. Internorm say its high security door. Dont think long handle has an impact its only a pull bar on outside I have a regular handle inside.
  7. @newhome I might have given it a go if I could physically get myself folded into the space it needs to go in but unfortunately I have a back problem thats means I cant. Its an absolute nightmare having to lie flat on the floor under mvhr every few days to fill trap with water. I have to slide in and out like a worm and be drugged up on painkillers to do it. If it had just been swapping one trap for another may have been do able but sadly not. So hoping I can get a plumber out soon. Feel hugely frustrated and annoyed I cant sort this myself now lovely chaps on here have given me solution
  8. Two companies I found that do lovely doors were https://www.deuren.co.uk/front-doors/styles/ and https://www.urbanfront.com/en_GB/
  9. That door is almost identical to my Internorm door....same handle and trims. I have pc aluminium to match windows not timber though and my side glazed pael is frosted and I carried the stripe from the door trims across the glass. Amazing two different companies same design makes you wonder if they are all made by the same people. I saw some achingly beautiful timber doors when I was looking....one was £12k! My house would not have suited wood so went for aluminium.
  10. Is this a hard wired controller or wireless on home network.
  11. Thank you. I have been and bought them.....they didnt have the brand you said (despite web site saying in stock) sold me McAlpine which they said are identical...hope so! Trying to find a plumber now.
  12. Ive got a hot water circulating pump so no wait for water...we have it on a timer set to run at times we would be using baths and showers so its not running all the time. Pretty simple set up.
  13. Sorry I forgot yesterday. Here are some close ups of the fitted piece over the window and some of the piece as fabricated. As well as a bit that tucks around the larch there is a piece that goes up behind to deflect water. I have put spare piece against our bin store (made from left over larch) in pics hopefully that shows it. Let me know if not.

    Good luck with all that!
  15. If its so old likely the beneficiaries of the covenant are long gone. Your lawyer should advise but it sounds like a case for an indemnity policy, not expensive
  16. not that I know of - will look at local places thank you
  17. Love the stairs!
  18. One of my ducts is still open...I moved some boxing in the plant room last week and saw it left unsealed on the inside. I bought a big box of stainless steel wool for ducts but think last of builders must have skipped it when they left as can't find it. Can I just put some bathroom silicone in to seal or do I need to get something special pdq.......worried about furry visitors now ...
  19. Ooooh I wish I had not read this thread......I won't sleep tonight!
  20. I think we are all agreed that plumbers and the mvhr/ufh/boiler installer seem to to be useless! Makes me so mad to feel so clueless myself, OH has bought me a book on plumbing but its not making much sense yet. LOL @PeterW I’m about to order the recommended bits ready for a plumber when found. As trap going on the straight bit of pipe after everything else do I need 2 of those running adaptors one for each end of new trap? Sorry to be so thick.
  21. That varnish is pretty bomb proof. I have solid oak window boards and they are oiled so protected from stains but not got any kids about the place though
  22. ive just used this on some internal oak veneer its quite nice and subtle
  23. Thank you that makes good sense. I will look for a plumber next. Do you think I should get the waterless trap myself or let plumber supply? I would just ask in the shop what they suggested I buy.
  24. Mine was like a sieve when they came to do the air test mainly down to the windows not being fitted properly. We were under pressure to get the air test done so mbc could get finished and paid. All they did to resolve the many leaks in my building was put tape over the gaps and tell me I should get it sorted..........it was many many months later before I was able to resolve the window issue and get the place airtight, had a fab cert though. The air test people are not programmed for ‘failure’ you will get your cert to the contracted level or better if you have holes/gaps they will temp tape them to get the result and then you will need to sort it out properly afterwards.
