  1. I think you need to be very careful, if not an exact match in colour and gloss% then will look a mess. If you cannot get an exact then I would think about doing a different but complimentary finish on your bespoke bits.
  2. Servant best bet me and pressure washer not a good combo!
  3. This really crosses with a gardening thread so please move if better. I have slot drains running all around my external tiled areas. They work well, no issues (keeping crossed!) but I am getting a lot of rubbish going into them, leaves etc. Yesterday we had horrendous weather, high winds and torrential rain all day, has devastated blooming plants and left slots clogged with small seeds blooms etc. A stick shifts some of it, its too wet to suck with a vacuum cleaner (may not work if dry anyway). I have maintenance chambers but they are a long way from clogged up areas. Is the stick the best method and flush down the rest with a hose or is there a better way to keep them clean?
  4. How much space have you got for tap before window hits?
  5. I love my inward opening tilt and turns. Deliberate choice on my part. No curtains here... where I have them blinds are fitted in the frame (very discreet) so they move with the window.
  6. Thanks guys. Ookla is the one I normally use and when I can get iphone to hold a wi fi signal I am getting 37 download and nearly 6 upload so no signal issue. Phone defaults to 4g all the time wont hold the wi fi signal and I am getting 11 download and 1 upload on 4g which is about normal for poor signal area here. I will have to see if anyone I know has an android to test it out, it does seem likely its an IOS issue as only recently started
  7. I was really impressed at the Aldi one I took out of the box....it was amazing value seemed solid and well made beyond that I cant comment.
  8. no router is on an open shelf nearby and not moved position in last year. ipad I am using now has defaulted to 4g as I have moved from kitchen to bedroom....it was on wi-fi in kitchen. My phone is in kitchen and won’t hold a connection to wi fi. No other devices in use. Its mad....I have changed nothing its all the same but for this problem that recently started. Hoping the new kit coming tomorrow might sort it out. Of course it could be some Apple IOS glitch as all problem devices are apple.
  9. @pocster got a trusty old devolo lurking somewhere if all else fails. Thanks
  10. I saw some really nice quality ones in Aldi last week.....amazing bargain at £29.99 was sorry I didn't need one.
  11. looks great well done @Lesgrandepotato
  12. @pocster are you single storey? We are and our MVHR vents come out of the wall not the roof.
  13. Possibly should be called Phoenix Homes as was formed from embers of defunct Roy Homes Inverness...same directors picked up the assets of Roy from liquidators and put them into the company they had formed ready and waiting...Ptarmigan Homes. No idea beyond that.
  14. Thank you. Its Siberian Larch Sivalbp with New Age Gris sacrificial coating for even weathering
  15. alarm is separately hard wired. Cameras are hardwired too, I have a board in my data cab and it all goes via the board ...that is connected to router via ethernet cable I think All been working fine for a year its only the last few weeks the problems have started.
  16. It drops out totally no wi fi at all and when you ask it to connect again its not easily finding the hub. When I come back to kitchen area nearer hub have no problems at all its full strength
  17. Every contractor who was on site after wi fi was connected logged into it....I think there is a long list of various devices listed that have no connection to me. Surely that would have been a problem before the last week or so though?
  18. Now that is entirely possible if the distance would allow...no one is that close
  19. Too many ...5....WOW! Thats just 2 of us imagine if we had a family here all logged in would be hopeless During the day there are just 2 and its no different.
  20. Supposedly idiot proof BT WHW set ordered....4 units, more than I think I need but cheaper than buying extra later. Got a 'free' Amazon Echo too....another Alexa to yell at LOL
  21. Thank you...thats the one I have just been looking at. Seems to tick the boxes.
  22. Is this internal or external? For external I used a polar white which has no creamy tones in it. For internal I had a mix done....has a code number but nearest is Dulux Chalk White which is a white with a blue undertone so again no yellowy tones. What you may term a cold white as opposed to a warmer white which has creamy or pinky undertone. I chose a cool white as my floor is a limestone colour so not cold and this colour gives me the soft feel I wanted also a soft chalky finish paint for me as I dont have little fingers to worry about. It is the undertone in the white you need to think about. I would paint a big piece of lining paper (or a few) in several different whites and stick up on walls in different areas and look at in different lights at different time of day. Whites can be very hard to get right.
  23. Only 3 ipads and a couple of phones on wi fi so not a lot. Hotspot no good in this situation
  24. OK got it. I can see the google system is the same as the BT WHW (can be used with any broadband provider it says) the Ubiquity looks a tad more complicated and expensive and I dont mind paying for a good one but it needs to be idiot proof. Thank you for pointing me at this I had not understood how these systems worked
  25. My vertical cladding goes to soffit and stops just short. I have metal drip over windows. Fabricated and powder coated to match window frames.
