The white will discolour really badly and she will be cussing you every time she has to try to bleach it white again. The grey is much more forgiving.
-
Grey for sure. It’ll hide that area of imperfection better that will p**s you off every time you look it it. You may as well put a ‘look at me’ sign up if you do it in white! ? No one else will notice it mind.

Anyway 2 downstairs showers are on outside walls and 2 upstairs are on the other side of the landing although one is next to the cupboard with the UVC in.

Jesus, where’s @Nickfromwales when you need him to make a less smutty suggestion!! ?

Well seems you were right. Viewed a house with a friend today (she’s moving not me), 4 showers all with the most huge rainfall shower heads and all have separate controls cited behind the shower heads so you get a wet arm lol. In addition none of them have handheld showers so the question is, how easily can they be retrofitted as they need a handheld in at least 1 for bathing the dogs.

Help with kitchen renovation/ 1st house.

If you undid it, cleaned it and put it back on I doubt you’ve ruined it. Does it still squirt out ok from the gun? If so it’s surely all good? -

@zoothorn. Deep breath, start again, post photos as you go, and check at every stage. You probably haven’t been following @Onoff‘s bathroom thread but he is a prolific poster of photos and asks questions as he goes, with photos to illustrate. So keep those batteries topped up and if you feel something is going wrong at any stage take a photo and ask! You’ll get there but pressing on when something doesn’t feel right won’t help. -
Welcome to the forum. There are lots of threads on PV, storage and heat pumps here so have a peruse and if you don’t see what you need feel free to start a new thread in the appropriate forum.

The grout will need to be dry to get a proper idea of the colour. Bit like painting. Can’t you cover a few tiles up, lay a couple of unlaid tiles / offcuts on top and then grout those in the silver and leave to dry? Needs to be in the light of the bathroom really which is why I say do it there. Then just pick the tiles up afterwards and the grout should fall out pretty much. Domestics aren’t exactly the ideal time to persuade her mind ?. I had a hissy fit when hubby used the wrong type of cream grout in the master bathroom as I had bought 2 different types of cream to be used with different tiles. It was too late to change it. It all looked the bloody same when all rooms were done though ☺️

Well I guess you couldn’t get a refund but the item should still be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. So you would have to be sure they are the items you definitely want.

Do you really think I would be that dense No dicks here I only have one shower with separate controls at home. I wanted them all like that but hubby decided that they would be easier to replace if they went wrong if they were the thermostatic bar mixer types so I only managed to persuade him to fit one. I only use that shower (downstairs) to shower the dogs so generally get soaked in the process anyway so getting a wet arm is neither here or there in the great scheme of things!

But it’s starting to come together now! Another week and the wall tiles will be half done too! -
Date of Warranty Certificate
newhome replied to newhome's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
I was more concerned about the later years tbh because if I want to move in, for example, 5 years, then surely the buyer’s mortgage company will want to see 5 years remaining on the warranty, not 4. -

Date of Warranty Certificate
newhome replied to newhome's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
They’ve replied and said it was the date that I submitted the application for the completion certificate but the council asked me to do that after my hubby died in order to trigger a visit so they could assess what still needed to be done. It wasn’t complete at that point. So I clarified that and they have amended the start date so all good. I still don’t think these policies are up to much TBH but at least I have it for when it’s time to sell. -

Thanks. I’ll contact them and see what they say. They shouldn’t have put a deceased person on it anyway. -

The Build - plaster boarding and insulation

Wow that stonework looks amazing! In fact it all looks amazing. You must be delighted with how it’s going, and what a great year weather wise to be building! How’s the budget? -
Date of Warranty Certificate
newhome replied to newhome's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
Thanks. Build-Zone sent their surveyor out when it was pretty much complete and they just asked for a few things to satisfy them that it was finally complete (one of those was the completion certificate when issued). They said at the time that another visit wasn’t required. I’ve found them a bit rubbish to deal with in truth and this latest experience has reinforced that view. -
Date of Warranty Certificate

Thanks. I’m sure it must be wrong. Their own surveyor didn’t come out for the final inspection until 2017 and produced a list of things that needed to be remedied (unsurprisingly as it wasn’t quite finished at that point). @PeterStarck what date does your warranty run from please?
