I shall start looking for an old Ford for you to store. Make enough room for a camper van, Transit based.

If you know the thermal properties of the pipe material, the wall thickness and the diameter, you can calculate the heat transfer though it. Just the same as calculating the U-Value of a wall.

Why would anyone want to encourage a bat to live in/on their house. We have all heard about the problems people have had. I like that, very Gothic.

Clamp some in place and jump on them. If it bends too much, double up to 8 by 2. -
No, effing CT 1, have you learnt nothing.

Current draw of a wax solenoid?
SteamyTea replied to MJNewton's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
So 3.5 [W] x (5 [min] x 60 ) = 1050 Ws = 0.00029166666666667 kWh Don't seem to so bad when preceded with lots of zeros. -

I guess they are reliable, not a very good solution, really needs a stepper or servo motor I would have thought. 1 W has the ability to move 1 kilo, 1 meter every second. How heavy is the baffle. -
Not as much as the person that uses it. I think it is a total rebuild, mending is not an option. I hope some plumbing is involved.

Does it stay permanently on when in summer bypass? I have not heard of these. Are they like a traditional waxstat but with a heating element in them? -
Try my end of the country in the winter. Things should have been reopening just now. I semi retired 20 years ago, quite nice doing a few nights a week, not as if I did much in the evenings anyway. Got paint and filler today. Ever since I moved into this house, there has been an annoying gap between the wall and the stairs. Finally got it filled. Bit more sanding tomorrow and should be good to paint.

Are to talking about Medite. I left some in a buck for over a year, I think the video is still up on the other place. It seemed no different and the mass had hardly changes, less than 1% if I remember correctly.

That was my thinking. Part of it will on on the concrete path, but may put some blocks there.

I would like to know more about that as it is how I am thinking to do my new shed.

Depending on the contract that Agile has with the generation operators, it is probably cheaper to let your customers put fan heaters in the garden than ask the wind and solar farm operator to turn the facility off. They are probably paying more than 3p/kWh to buy the power in, but would possibly be paying 5p/kWh if they did not take the power.

Here is an article about it: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/apr/05/thousands-to-be-paid-for-daytime-green-electricity-use-during-lockdown

I think it is because it is a very good degreaser. But on an old engine that is failing to start, should be OK.
-
So they were not gumped up at all. Ez-Start it is then.

Did you remove the piston rings and refit them? I was led to believe that the way they seal in a diesel engine is that they rely on the grove around the piston being greater than the thickness of the ring. This allows the higher pressure gas to force out the ring, making a better seal when the bores are worn.
-
My Renault did that when the turbo oil seals went. Scared the shit out of the lad in the garage.
