That is sales people for you they can only sell what they have.

Not in practice. The times when windspeed is low, solar radiation high, along with high air temperatures are very rare, and the solar radiation levels are probably higher than STP for the modules, so they would be over performing anyway.

You would get a lot more PV on a tradition roof
-
Have a look at roof integrated. As cheap as tiling and looks much better.

Just thought I would look at the usage of my mother's old Bosch oven. The meter was reading a stead 240W, checked her pie and it went up to 2040W. So 1.8 kW, for an hour. My much newer oven used almost half that at 1 kW. Both are a similar size. Getting my supper cooked by some nice Indian men.

This has been tried by the manufacturers and they found out that for the same quality of wash, it actually takes more energy. And the soap manufacturers where not keen because some if the mixes solidify when cool.

Trickle power. Energy is power, multiplied by time. So they may not be as good as you think.

-27⁰C when I last checked. I usually do the temperatures on the cooked food. Why we have 5 stars.

By having it go to export, everyone benefits, a little.

If I had known she would still be alive 5 months after her stroke, I would have got myself a hybrid for the weekly 600 mile journey. Recon I could get 8 kW on this roof. Lovely and sunny today.

Smug. But just think off all the poor people you are helping who have been waiting for nearly two decades for your local nuclear power station to get finished. Just charging up the battery in my mother's car as it has been sitting idle for 5 months. Sounds alright, in tickover, for a diesel.

First two are almost right. The wave power isn't. To the best of my knowledge there has been no, large scale, wave power that has been successful, globally. Mate of mine worked in the industry and he left because he got fed up with 'hopeless projects that were going to fail'. To quote an engineer based at WaveHub, 'it is a bit rough out there'.

C is usually used for coulomb, not sure that 3 of them is 1200A. Or have I misunderstood something. 3C.s-1 = 3A

Well it is meant to work like a mirror. So why don't we put acrylic mirrors on our walls and lofts.

Do you know how much energy you currently use, and when you use it? If not, find out.

What about this bloody monstrosity!

Second idea. How about creating a new facia that runs the full width, and a bit deeper. Use that to cover the existing gutter, 3 short downpipes going into a larger pipe (that is hidden behind the false facia), then to a popper downpipe at one end. -

Which heating system to use on our new build?
SteamyTea replied to Johnny Jekyll's topic in Underfloor Heating
Have a hunt around on here for Jeremy Harris's spreadsheet. That is about as good as you need. As for why you should do it, it is because it allows you to change thermal performance of the fabric elements. That can save you thousands. -
I was just trying out posting from my Kindle, using Brave. It won't let me post from my old one since the forum software upgrade (downgrade in my case). But works fine on my newer Kindle. So time to root the old one and see what it can really do.

We often get asked on here how much a build should cost. Usually this is based on £/m². Why not base it on a multiple of Architects fees. So when you want to build get an estimate of what an architect will charge, then multiply by 20. Then laugh.

DIY hot water system needs replacing - Sunamp?
SteamyTea replied to Nelliekins's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
So hopefully that will discount any serious scaling up. Does seem odd that is has got gradually worse. Check the thermostatic valve. -

Have you got this far without thermally modelling your build?
