  1. Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 And Amy Johnson of course.
  2. Yes, it is good for rolling up bodies in.
  3. It is about finer control of the heating distribution. There is not 'one size fits all' method to this, so certain generalisations have to be employed. Just stick to the rules and guidelines and all will be OK.
  4. Document it all so we can see what is involved. Be an interesting project. May even post you one of my homemade energy loggers, could be useful data.
  5. That would need a large vent hole cut into the van. The one I linked to just needs a small hole. If you ever go to to a shop that has a portable AC unit running at the back, point out that they are actually heating the shop, not cooling it. They need to draw in outside air and expel the hot air. So the working bit should really be outside.
  6. Not really. Panasonic used to do them for under 300 quid, There is this one for under 400 https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/tf-12000ch/telefunken-tf12000ch-air-conditioner-air-conditioner Not sure how much it would cost to get an F-Gas man in, but a few people have fitted them themselves.
  7. Get the draughts sorted out, stop the wind blowing underneath the van. Then, assuming you have electricity, fit a cheap A2AHP. You may have a second use for it later i.e. heat workshop or garage, summer cooling in bedrooms.
  8. You will have to re-type @Binky so he gets a message. Not seen him on here for a while.
  9. Then what? Wait for bin day?
  10. https://www.thermalec.co.uk/calculator/
  11. I don't, they work just the same as a fridge. A fridge in reverse would produce electricity from a temperature difference.
  12. Laughing at your futility already. It has been a while since we have had a humdinger going. Maybe it is a winter thing when we all get cabin fever.
  13. Shall bring it over when I build the new one. Saves a trip to the dump.
  14. Told you before. 'man who goes to bed with problem: wakes up with solution'.
  15. Bloody spell checker. SEED
  16. Do all these hopeful research papers take into account power delivery? It drops off quite quickly as the store temperature drops.
  17. My house needs about 500W. It has a volume of 160m3. So about a tenth of the house size. But as you say. Just realised that is about the size of my shed.
  18. Yes, why I keep it in a jam jar on my mantle piece.
  19. Looks more like a banyan tree
  20. Most failled experiment don't get published.
  21. Shall I go around and 'charm' her.
