  1. You get lots of journeys on public transport for 50quid. Don't think we have enough busses to get out the county, regardless of price.
  2. Usually because they have family/friends/contacts in the UK is what I heard on the radio. Doing what we should be doing.
  3. Can lend you one day of mine. And a tripod to cold a camera steady while you chop things off. Slightly more serious. Get a sanding disk in an angle grinder and you can sand it away if the stump is dry. Chainsaw don't work too well on dry wood, same as fine toothed saws. All gets a bit sticky.
  4. Shows how easy it really is. I hope they had an RCD on the extension lead.
  5. When they coming back to finish the job?
  6. Give it a go as you don't have to buy anything.
  7. Multitool and an extension lead maybe.
  8. Do they sell a tape dispenser, think there is a Rymans near my Screwfix.
  9. Is it a good price? At least with Screwfix they have a good returns policy.
  10. Post a close up picture of it. Then it may be able to find something so similar that the difference is indistinguishable.
  11. Is it possible to get a sample, then see if you can mimic the Trex, but cheaper.
  12. Does that bit of the garden get flooded?
  13. Yes, how to get rid of this earworm.
  14. Don't tell @Pocster, he will have all his tenants 'working'.
  15. Could solve the energy storage problem if they made batteries from filling amalgam and aluminium foil.
  16. If you get F-Gas can you recharge car AC units?
  17. Is the left one a metric fine thread? https://www.newmantools.com/tech/threadmf.htm
  18. Friend of mine's brother did the same, but on helicopters. Had to retrain, at his own expense, to work on civilian helicopters. They were often the same machines. Literally the same ones, bought off the MOD.
  19. I have a degree in renewable energy, I am still expected to do these sort of technicians courses. Really does make one wonder what a science degree is for these days.
  20. The heating, or the RPi. I have some code to sense when the power comes on or off.
  21. We are a strange race of people in the UK. We prefer manual cars because automatics are boring. But hate the idea of having to change a heating setting or two, because it is difficult.
  22. @Crofter Do the F-Gas and learn how to size heat pumps, then you can sell a secondary service.
  23. But probably have a lot of opinion about what they cannot possibly work.
  24. Interesting, my house, a small terrace, is 1987 vintage, with only minor improvements.
