shed going up

hi all,

 

been off forum for a while, progress with house is slow, still waiting for building warrant and structural engineer. i have though, got started on the shed, frame up and cladding started.

Hmm do you think I could convince the National Park to let me have one on the basis of the ecological benefits of storing vast quantities of insulation? We only manage to get an extra 10x8 outbuilding by proclaiming it was a "recycling store".

Agricultural exemption. I am going to try as i need machinery to work the land.

60'x30', a big meccano kit! first one i've done and i'm quite pleased!, 'insulation' is the fibre cement roof. need a decent size to build the kit in, will end up as 2/3 stabling 1/3 workshop/garage for me. it's surprising what you can do with a tape, a water level and a merlo!

What did you do for foundations? Are they 1 metre cubes?

I've just completed a shed like that for a mate.  We dug holes and then poured a concrete base in each hole - all at the correct depth - frame then sat on these.  Worked out well for us.  Others bolt them down.  We put around a m3 around each leg.

@Roger440 started out at m3 but i was unhappy with condition of ground, went down 1.5m and then hardcored back up. @CC45 did you use bolt boxes/cones?

Hmm, well, I've got shed envy then.

I could just about  put both our houses and shed and cars and garden  in the section of shed shown in the photo. Well, nearly.

The answer to life is excellent storage.

 No, we decided that the two of us were unlikely to get them in accurately enough.  We dug holes and then put a level concrete base in them - the frame sat on these. We squared it up and then filled the holes in.  Took 3 of us a day in total.

If that's the shed, how bigs the house ?!? Can I be rude and ask what the kit alone cost ? 

Looks like a great solution, will there be a mezzanine? A lot of useful space up high there.

they were very helpful with the details, oh and by the way, they also do metal stairs. quality of steel and manufacturing is very good.
