Any thoughts on this PC ? ??

Needs a good graphics card, as it's for my boy ( gaming etc ) but with i7 and 3Tb sounds a good price.

Looks pretty good at first glance that. I had my boys gaming pc built by Arbico btw.

Spec / cost please ? ?

It was a couple of years ago or so I thought.....Xmas 2012 FFS! And it's only an I5 but they're still about. Outstanding customer service. I've had a quick look about and that Argos price seems pretty good tbh.

Check it's got a man enough psu to run a proper graphics card. Easy and cheap to change of course.

Arbico btw:

For gaming or pretty much anything I would not buy a PC without an SSD. The difference in performance is staggering. SSD as a main drive, internal or external HDD for storage.

I've got a 500gb SSD from my boys dead laptop. Don't know if that'll go direct in the tower or need a case and go external?

Just be cautious with SSD when they are doing a lot of write/rewrites as the storage capacity degrades over time. Top end ones do stuff like wear levelling but they can be double the price of the entry level stuff. Games can sometimes rely on large disk storage sectors which on SSD can promote increased degradation.

So the 3tb for general use and keep the SSD for less frequently accessed 'important' stuff?

well, this is from the top of the search https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/349uqc/build_help_does_gaming_on_an_ssd_destroy_it/

but I am not a hardware guy. So far HDDs died for me more often then SSDs :-)

SSD if 2.5" will probably need an adapter to go in an HDD bay in the tower. I've bought loads of cheap drive enclosures etc from P C World. For some reason they're dirt cheap:

I tend to put the OS on the SSD and storage on the HDD. Gives a new lease of life to an old pc. Put a Linux distro on it and you're flying!

Definitely has to go inside.

How exactly depends on the connector of your laptop SSD. If it is M.2 then you will need an adapter http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2637817/connect-ssd-desktop.html

Overall this article seems to give a good idea what different formats you may find inside your laptop and how they fit. http://www.computershopper.com/feature/2016-guide-the-best-m.2-solid-state-drives-tested
