  1. Let us know how you got on please. In the meantime I've ordered an ebay A3 laminator and prints from graphicsmaster@zoho.com
  2. Just used graphicsmaster@zoho.com for A3 print of my plans in line colour. All fine and very pleased with price and quick delivery (even though I selected 2nd class). Thanks @Vijay
  3. Am finding Housebuilder's Bible 11th edition very useful - I just need to be able to read faster!
  4. General wood screws from Screwfix and B&Q. Both seem to shoot on their packaging what style thread they are but no reason given why it was better than the other style.
  5. Been buying screws. What is the benefit of single threaded screws over double threaded screws? Are they for different jobs/material? Thanks
  6. (Not sure which section to ask this question) I'm concerned I don't have a set of plans available on site for my soon to arrive trades. But as it is now coming into autumn/winter printed plans will quickly become a soggy mess. Anyone had their plans laminated at A2 size? Or got a better suggestion?
  7. £550 + VAT + free 2 day delivery
  8. In the end I went with a Speedistair from Ladders999, really pleased with it. Hope to sell it on afterwards too
  9. Just spoken with Andy Trewin at Sunamp, the 'Flexi-stack' is available today. Individually made to customer spec. Rather more than the £1700 Sunamp PV though
  10. Sure did then and again just now but don't see any mention of a hybrid unit. Have you got one?
  11. I met Andy Trewin from Sunamp at Clean Energy Live 2016, NEC. He explained they do a hybrid Sunamp which supports hot water AND electric INPUTS. Just trying to understand if that is viable for my well insulated (but not passiv house standard), off-grid with 9kWp solar PV and LPG boiler with UFH. Keen to ensure minimal uncontrolled heat input into house, while consuming excess PV (and wind) once batteries charged Anyone got one?
  12. While maybe a little smaller than I'm used to for a NEC event. It reads very useful and great to see a Sunamp and Aquion batteries in the flesh. So many battery storage companies now no idea where to go!
  13. Ditto am amazed with the battery life on my Brinno MAC200DN http://www.brinno.com/outdoor-security-camera/MAC200DN
  14. Hope to go on Wednesday, would be interested to hear any feedback from anyone going on Tuesday
  15. Presumably a tyre'd digger would have do more damage to the ground though?
  16. Nope not a Merlo. Just re-watched it. Mooreno designed by a guy called Andy Cox, who was the driver in the programme, can't found out any more info though.
  17. And I suspose there is no chance of taping into the electric field effect if DC - since if it goes very near my house like this map shows that would be very helpful!
  18. Serious tool jealousy today watching Grand Designs with that tracked pivoting mini digger. Mooreno can't find much about them though
  19. Main reason for asking is that one of the potential routes is pretty much next to/under my house!
  20. Oops should have looked harder: from http://viking-link.com/your-questions/
  21. For the various electric supply cables coming into Britain from Denmark & Norway, why are they using HVDC and not HVAC? (Which I thought was supposed to be superior)
  22. To be honest I was thinking of a ultra simple old telephone exchange style 'patch board' so I can reconfigure easily. Maybe with some basic timers to kill things after 'lights out'.
  23. Just working on electrical socket and lighting circuit design. Am just wondering if I run all the switch cables and lighting supplies back to a central point, it means I can configure the arrangement of what switch feeds which light points post plastering. Allowing me to add fancy control systems later without hacking the walls apart. Like a sort of star(fish) network Question: Can that be done without being overly complex for the electrician/buidling control?
