  1. They were really pleasant and competitively priced. Happy with the install and I would use them again.
  2. I used Rawington for alu windows.
  3. Just familiar with the brand, that's all. The wifi option is very appealing as my parents never check the salt levels and it's usually empty before it starts beeping. I used the WIFI20 code and the wifi version was cheaper than the regular one.
  4. My parents have a BWT, seems to do the job well. https://www.bwtshop.co.uk/product-category/luxury-water-products/water-softeners/ I'm about to pull the trigger on a BWT Perla 20L Using BWT16 discount code, it comes in considerably cheaper.
  5. @thefoxesmaltings Follow your Instagram and really enjoyed your GD episode, it was simply brilliant, well done!
  6. I just spoke with them. They are not pulling out, self-build mortgage applications are on hold until October.
  7. I have one, hopefully will be connecting it up soon.
  8. Kindly suggested by @Chanmenie https://hilltop-products.co.uk/tools-cutters-machinery/hot-knife-rope-cutters/hand-held-hot-knife-rope-cutters/hand-held-kd-7x-premium-hot-knife-foam-cutter-groover-kit-with-case-accessories-230v.html I'm looking for less expensive options, which one did you use?
  9. Thank you for your responses, I planning plasterboard directly on to the EPS hence I'm running electrical cable in conduit to protect it. My internal ICF wall has 50mm and external has 100mm of EPS. Will speak to my electrician first, with a view of using standard 35mm metal boxes.
  10. Finally at first fix! Which electric back box you recommend for EPS/XPS ICF for plug sockets and light switches? Standard, plastic, steel or other?
  11. I have a triple glazed 7.5m x 2.6m lift & slide door. I’d guess you’re looking at £20k based on mine.
  12. How big is a large heat pump? Watching this thread with interest since I have a 3-phase supply and the solar installer is telling me I don't need a 3-phase inverter for my 6kw solar PV. 😕
  13. I have BR requirement to install a Grade A - LD3 fire system with a control panel in my new build!? Any thoughts, recommendations, tips, etc?
  14. I was in the same situation and went with 3 phase it was about £100 extra for the bigger 3P cable, which made sense to me at the time. If you are getting PV Panels the next question will be 3 phase or 1 phase inverter?
  15. I just finished a Jackon build, happy to share details via PM.
  16. I have a similar situation here, the steel sits bridging the envelope. How should I insulate the steel beams?
  17. I don't think you'll have any financial issues with either. What's your plan, hire a ICF contractor or DIY?
  18. Recessed meter boxes are half the price, this is best I could find. Tricel Large 3 Phase Recessed / Large Permali Recessed Electric Meter Box £176 including shipping. https://www.meterboxesdirect.co.uk/electric-meter-box-recessed-large-3-phase-794-565-180-mm.html
  19. Fair enough, I’m looking into a surface mounted 3 phase meter box, can’t get my head around how expensive they are compared to regular meter boxes. Mitras surface mounted meter box £55 Mitras surface mounted 3 phase meter box £315!?
  20. @Chanmenie I’m planning on having a surface mounted box on my ICF. Have you bought your meter box? Which one did you get?
  21. I went on the Isotex, Nudura & Jackon training and ended up going with Jackon... My Jackon structure went up this year, with no complaints. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
  22. I have a couple of Ring stick up cams powered by Ring solar panels, so no power connection required. I moved my virgin internet router to my power hut before I demolished my bungalow. If your neighbours are friendly perhaps ask for temp Wi-Fi access until you get yours setup.
  23. This is a tricky situation that insulhub has put many of you in. Also having spoken to Andy & Jamie several times I'm shocked. I feel for you@Chanmenie I was so close to following your footsteps. If you want to see my Jackon ICF build drop me a message.
  24. @Surfiejim I didn't go with isotex, blessing in disguise as it turns out. I used Jackon, they supplied me with BBA certificates.
  25. Yes, I’m using them.
