I’m too lazy to work it out, how long would it take a litre of boiling water to cool to 90 degrees? obviously surface area counts so a 2:1 height/width glass jug... could that time be manageable? If a better tap were not capable of altering the temp in this way?

Oil Prices nearly 30% Down
daiking replied to Ferdinand's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
lol, I got that very wrong. I thought I paid 118.7p/l on Saturday for diesel and I did. But when I double checked a receipt it said 123.7p/l so changed my post. Just found the correct receipt from Saturday and realised the more expensive receipt was from 27/12/19. So there's a 5p/l fall since Xmas already - although the warm winter must be helping plus a global economic slowdown even before you know what came along. -

Filled up for 118.7p (dirty diesel) this weekend which I thought was pretty cheap anyway. Realistically, even if this price stuck for a bit, there's probably only another 3-4p in the price you pay to fall after all the tax and overheads. -

Buildhubbers think we’ll be dead before the summer so probably no point in buying too much. -

So... This needs looking at again, I was thinking a small-ish (600x300) LED panel flush mounted in the ceiling, about 4000K in colour and must be dimmable. Is that going to be a simple swap for what is just traditional ceiling light to a 1 gang switch? I've been looking at some panels and when you can find a dimmable one, the configuration of dimmers and drivers has confused me, totally.

Don’t spoil the narrative. Has Elon built all the other factories he was supposed to build yet?

It’s the slugs and spiders I’m worried about.

I’ve had some osb sheets in my shed for a couple of years. I need something to make some shelves in the loft... Do I run the risk of bringing a garden bug infestation into the house if I use them? should I just buy some clean cheap sheet material instead?
-
that looks like it would fit but at £20/m he can go and do one.

I honestly expected this to the most common rubber profile available seeing that its just a cheap composite door. Those cheap knock offs you see advertised everywhere.

Looks like I need to keep it 5mm wide to fit in both these channels. Hence why I thought a brush seal might work instead
-
thanks but not really, I’ve been looking at all sort of seal and window spare parts websites for something more like this.

Options for Insulating suspended timber ground floor
daiking replied to AdamSee's topic in Heat Insulation
For 1.5m2? As part of presumably a much larger ground floor refitted to a better standard? -

Is it wildly important?
