  1. Had a hedgehog turn up in the garden today at midday. I’ve never seen one here. Obviously it wasn’t well and despite taking it to a wildlife hospital, they put it down. My son was quite attached to it so we may have to build a box for them. No idea where I’d put it though.
  2. Too busy WFH today to get anything done so youngest child is on my case. But a neighbour has given me a rhubarb plant which is something I don’t have. Result.
  3. Not strictly on topic but tomorrow (in between WFH) we make Nerf battle hideouts
  4. Cooking with gas now. Going to line it with ground fabric and start filling it up over the hole which we do not speak of.
  5. I have managed to destroy a couple of pallets to be able to make something.
  6. Good luck @Ferdinand . I now have a hole in the ground full of food waste so better dig another hole.
  7. This in 2015 and counting, although they have gone up significantly in price since then.
  8. Balls. Not enough felt to cover the ridge. I used it on the Wendy house. Awkward.
  9. Now Ed Miliband is back on the Labour front bench I’m hoping we might get those free owls they promised
  10. Ffs, got some proper jobs on today. The shed roof is borked and I need to check out the birds nest in the loft.
  11. If this is what retirement is going to be like I’m sold. It’s going to be f****** lit. I’m technically on leave this week rather than “working from home” so I have finally used the Vax as carpet washer. It only took me 5 years to get here.
  12. Scouring the house for potential growing containers. 4 x 4pt milk per week is certainly helping. Found an old 5 litre plastic container used for olive oil. Wondering if I need to thoroughly degrease it or just give it a wash with fairy liquid? Dont have any chemicals beyond fairy liquid, Jif and bleach btw.
  13. I’m interested in this as well. Dug a hole in the ground and have been putting vegetable matter in it for over a couple of weeks now. Bloody food still looks fresher than if I’d put it in the fridge.
  14. The supermarket hot tub of course. Along with discount supermarket gazebo and discount store fairy lights. Stay classy folks.
  15. Going to set up the sex pond today, see if it’s still functional.
  16. Definitely shattered. Who knew that folding a plastic bag could be such hard work?
  17. Spent today lining 8 big wooden planters with 1000g DPM. That was hard work, I’m shattered Just got to wait for the garden centre to reopen so I have something to put on them...
  18. I would encourage anyone to take the serious personal protective measures they feel they need to be comfortable with themselves at this time. But I’m not so bothered about power cuts - and would probably say cancel the lockdown if we get to that stage but that’s a long way away from where we are now. I think there’s likely to be more stress in supply chains for essential goods depending on how long this lasts.
  19. I didn’t expect you to start the bed-wetting on this @Ferdinand . Other posters, maybe.
  20. Been out for supplies today. Might be the only way to get fresh food come August ?. Will keep the kids busy next week.
  21. Pandemic cocktails? What’s in a Zombie? I’m keeping it simple and sticking with whisky. I don’t drink enough and had got out of the habit unless I’d had a few beery looseners. It’s only taken a week of hard labour but I’m back on track. Tonight I’ve started with a pint of Lowenbrau Oktoberfest before pouring a house measure of the 9yo Lagavulin.
  22. Tempted to get a big dog, so we have something to eat at week 4.
  23. The Dyson air blade tap would probably look a little better in a residential setting but £1300 buys a lot of kitchen roll
  24. I thought they were germ factories? ? (not virus though ?)
