  1. Seriously . My ‘commute’ to my site was around 1 hour depending on the traffic . It is do-able - but is a pita . I did this for 4 yrs . Effectively I was just ‘ going to work ‘ - if though you have a real day job it might be tricky .
  2. Oh this is easy to solve !! A caravan for you . A caravan for SWMBO . No need to thank me .
  3. Like SWMBO tells me … slow is better 😉
  4. @Thorfun getting all cocky now
  5. You mean you installed 2 . (expletive deleted)ed up 2 . Removed 2 then re installed 2 .
  6. Other phrases …….
  7. I can phrase that other ways .
  8. No issues after nearly 3 years . But I am a (expletive deleted)ing legend
  9. I installed 2 of these . The fact I did it is all you need to know 👍
  10. Not sure what too make of that . Basically you swing both ways ….. 🙄
  11. If you reply “xbox” I will block you .
  12. Once you’ve got the basics plumbed *nothing* is critical . Take your time ! . All this plumbing / tiling / blah blah is quite boring . Can you please start sorting out WiFi , cinema room , retro games , ps5 , Dolby audio , HA I.e the important stuff and reason you built the house ! Seriously though - you got there ! . You are as qualified as me ……..
  13. I’ve taken nearly 10 yrs . So if anyone does it in less time than that it’s a bonus . 😊
  14. Not set up properly yet . But the ARL screen really makes a difference . Gloomy day with ceiling lights on . Tomorrow daytime shoukd be a better test as supposedly sunny . Nearly put the screen through the ceiling 🙄 IMG_9709.mov
  15. Certainly looks like a tile decoupling Mat 👍
  16. If in doubt “ fill it out “ I’m exactly the same but I did it anyway .
  17. Do this for peace of mind
  18. Not a lot going on in Wales.
  19. Definitely want to bed that - I used flexible tile adhesive on mine . Bedded to marine ply sheet which in turn was glued and screwed to battons .
  20. So are you @joe90 ….
  21. I’m a young stud
  22. @Mr Punter is positively ancient. @ancient tony - you got this . 👍
  23. You want home assistant . Turn off all cloud crap ( avoid Tuya ) . Maybe Shelly if WiFi good . Wouldn’t want smoke alarm dependent on WiFi or zigbee . AliExpress zigbee stuff is a gamble . Some works as expected , some doesn’t and some you end up doing your own code work around or requesting on GitHub for proper support . China land isn’t that keen to follow zigbee spec …. Z wave though is certified so ( in theory ) more chance of working as expected . It’s all a bit disconnected and hobbyist . But with time and learning you can get something decent .
