  1. I do . The only issue is if it can’t pair with the chime the device can hang . So if you can get the chime ( mains powered - not poe ) you could in theory set the volume to low and it would work .
  2. I remember my build was refused on many reasons ; but one being … “ the build would create a volume in the the void of the lane which is out of character “ wtf ! I think it’s called desperate BS
  3. 2 way audio only through reolink app . Not something I’m too concerned about tbh - usually too slow to be usable . My issue with the chime is I need it quite far from the doorbell so we can hear it - hence the range issue . So now the chime is as near as possible to the doorbell and yep I get HA to stop any music , make an announcement on Alexa when doorbell pushed . Under test at the moment…
  4. Quite possibly damp . I have a rental where tenant pays the utilities and they hardly ever put the heating on . Internal wall with ‘damp’ showing . Previously I paid the bills and so heating would be on - never an issue then … 90degrees to an external wall , damp in middle of wall also …
  5. I did have something like that right at the start . Even bought a modern I.e expensive push button . I didn’t like it . Camera too big ( even though it was a small dome ) and didn’t match the button . Reolink video doorbell behaving itself at the moment
  6. I do indeed ! But honestly how many gateway variations can they create !!!!
  7. The UniFi ‘hubs’ confuse me . There’s always another one somewhere ! - it’s a very confusing system hub wise .
  8. Its release is imminent! Nabu Casa have been working on this for sometime ! Announcement due Dec 19th
  9. I (expletive deleted)ing hate dogs
  10. Tried doorbird . Camera is very poor .
  11. What an awesome technician! 🙄 It’s really hard to tell the issue from what you’ve posted . You really need the IP address of the camera and nvr . That would help . Log into your router ( 192.168.8.1 as a GUESS ) - then you can see what’s connected . If you connect to your Internet via your laptop - from that you can find your router address - this is what we really need assuming my guess is wrong !
  12. Have you bled it ? ( forgive if that’s obvious ) . You then might need to re pressurise the boiler ( assuming a combi )
  13. Planning is all a bit Greg Wallace imho They lie like (expletive deleted) . They say they never wrote / said that . With emails and voice recordings you of course have proof . They tend not to like that , which means you’re gonna win 😊
  14. Omg ! That’s worth billions of zillions !
  15. Nah you need a squeezebox to pay off your mortgage 🤣
  16. I had an original Logitech squeezebox player ( remember those ) . Loved it ! . Much later I heard about the raspberry pi version of this as Logitech had shut up shop on the player but had let Logitech media server be open source . Thought I would stick the original player on eBay and get maybe 20 quid for it . Actually sold it for more than I bought it for ! . So some people will buy the ‘obselete ‘ version so they can extend their eco system by delaying ‘upgrading’ .
  17. I’m not knocking any locked in system or anyone that goes that route . Just not for me . Didn’t know Sonos reverted on that . So is all Sonos ( old and new ) able to work freely together ? . As an ex software engineer I appreciate fully backwards compatibility becomes more and more a pain .
  18. I always liked the real challenge ones ( not I’ve enough money to make a mega curved roof because I can ) - a water tower one I thought was inspirational. Don’t watch it now - enough woke , snowflake stuff around already .
  19. The problem with a bought in ecosystem is that ignoring price ( though their ip cameras are hideously expensive for what they are ) . There’s nothing stopping UniFi at a later date deciding ‘protect 2 ultra ‘ is not backward compatible. Then you are effectively either running hardware that will become unsupported or spend a packet replacing . I recall Sonos doing something similar - Sonos owners who had bought into their system were somewhat upset . My view is to be largely manufacturer agnostic and also ‘current flavour ‘ free to choose I.e zigbee , z wave , matter , WiFi etc etc .
  20. Don’t know when you last updated frigate - but some months ago they improved this feature . It was pretty poor before ; a lot better now but not exactly blue iris
  21. Yeah I happened to come across grandstream but it’s an unfamiliar brand . Their video doorbell looks very industrial bit like doorbird . You can buy one and let me know what it’s like 😊
  22. That bit I like ! only video doorbell I’ve seen is the g4 pro
  23. Nope I’m not sure . Was talking to someone online who said it would be ok . I’m leaving this UniFi system alone . If I spend hundreds and buy a dream machine ( whatever ) then clearly I’d be alright . She ain’t worth it Tracey !
  24. UniFi eco system is a bit of a mess I think !
  25. Yes . I guess maybe to stop confusing to the other threaded end . But @ProDave when the action is on you ain’t gonna care if it’s screw or ribbed 😉
