  1. Can I now have that 2k you owe me ?
  2. It’s the thought that counts 😊 Lonely forum sometimes 😪
  3. Thanks for all the replies . I’ve bought another blue electrical gel box . I’ll scoop the stuff out and stick it in the rj45 connector - see what happens
  4. I used to push the cardboard bottom in to get the flavours out . Not a euphemism
  5. I apparently “ had to “ comply with suds . It was impossible to do . The council just cut ‘n paste the same suds condition to everyone or magically don’t mention it even though it’s mandatory. So I smell a bit of BS …. We ‘agreed’ it couldn’t be signed off and therefore I didn’t meet that planning condition. Anyway years later build all signed off by bco etc . Your situation is more tricky with a visible aspect though …. It’s that famous game of … knobbing the donkey .
  6. Best to overthink everything and then do a 20 second job 🤣
  7. Still prefer ditra backing board . Lightweight , very strong , keys easily to tile adhesive . In a shower still tank it though of course . I use this board for lots of others things like inside of Lightwells / ceiling backer . It’s just so good as a lightweight bonding agent .
  8. Done this on a zillion cables/ pipes in conduit. Squirt it in both ends as the man said last night.
  9. Expanding foam
  10. So … On this camera which has a ‘fly lead ‘ rj45 I could encase the connection in a blue gel box . Hasn’t failed yet I’ve got a mesh extender outside always having issues with the physical connection. If I wipe with my fingers all good again . Tried sprays and it’s in a water proof box but the atmosphere is causing problems . Only possible solution I can think of is scoop the gel out of one blue boxes and force it in the rj45 socket - then plug the cable in . If this extender had a fly lead I’m guessing there would be no issue . Any better suggestions ?
  11. I did because of ‘fear’ if I didn’t I then once skimmed used a bathroom paint I.e forms a ‘skin’ that’s moisture resistant.
  12. I was going to say ‘yes’ aswell - but waited for someone else to say it first .
  13. Chatgpt etc rubbish in , rubbish out . They are naturally filtered by what they are fed ( by intent or otherwise ) . Tiananmen square on any Chinese AI gives a questionable response . How long before Russian AI spins ‘ Russia was invaded ‘ or probably worse TrumpAI - (expletive deleted) me - imagine the garbage that will spill . Sorry , went off topic ! . I Asked ChatGPT if taking over 10 years to do a self build was slow . Its response was it is “ on the long side “ , then asked me why it took so long ! I told it where to go then !
  14. Erm , don’t know . Can check … Actually from memory the 1 stair stringer was 150kg so not Ali …?
  15. Can’t I just use a ronseal / hammerite type paint straight to metal type thing ?
  16. What all 15 steps ? 🤔🙄🤣
  17. So spray with etch primer then paint ? ( which type of paint ? )
  18. No idea . Is there a definite way to tell ?
  19. Plastic primer ? Not a steel primer then paint ?? Or do you mean plastic primer over existing ( edge ) of flaked coating , then paint the lot ?
  20. I’ve got a touch up pen for the odd chip etc but as you can see the black coating ( I assume powder coating ) is peeling off . Can I prevent this ? Fix it ?
  21. A cinema room it depends . I wouldn’t want one because our basement lounge area has 120” screen with projector and surround sound . So without being a purist we get that ‘cinema’ feeling ( no back seat naughtiness ) . A basement could be a gym / games room also . Is it worth it ? . I always think a pool occupying internal space would make a resale more difficult. Whilst a ‘room’ which could be anything appeals to more people . Sex dungeons don’t have too look intimidating.
