  1. Fair point . Will check Monday . Probably the original soffit since the house was built
  2. Oh I know it needs fixing . Just assume it shouldn’t cause a leak
  3. Assume this isn’t a major issue ? I.e won’t cause a leak and can be fixed from outside via a ladder ?
  4. Yep . I might turn up naked and offer my tiling skills for free
  5. Don’t know who they are ; won’t Google it . Did they do dirty movies ? ( asking for a friend )
  6. Emailed them about the glazing . I’ll be gutted if even they don’t want it
  7. Do you know ; I might seriously email them about the glass
  8. They don’t usually take 7 years per project do they ? I could donate some walk on glazing and tell Nick Knowles what I really think …
  9. That’s your weekly consumption so I thought ? ?
  10. Party wall act is expensive ( tell me about it ) . Depending on this situation you could ask for some cash settlement whilst keeping everything in writing between you and your neighbor. They probably won’t agree . But the cost of the party wall act can be punishing especially if you cause a fuss about *everything* as the neighbor gets the bill ….
  11. Should of got them right at the start of the project!. But you know how it is, I'll just spend 50 quid here on these slightly wobbly stairs, they'll do. Will get them in situ soon.
  12. I’ve got something to hand that’s larger and heavier I could use …
  13. Yeah I’ll stick 50kg on the end . Put lock? Crap drawing please !
  14. Like others I’ve used / tried various methods . Built my own stairs ? , bought a cheap straight pre made set . But as we are moving on site soon I need something that is somewhat safer . Today this turned up with some requested customisation . It’s not tall enough deliberately to keep costs down and also it would be a pig to get under ground . Sell this on when finished .
  15. “ can do “ can rapidly turn into wtf !!!
  16. Extra support added - nothing fixed yet in case it’s wrong or just plain wtf ! In reality I’ve limited weight the hoist takes to 50kg . Staircase stringers are 100kg but upper end will hopefully stay where put On the ground .
  17. @joe90 finally started on my crane ( ok a winch ) . 48mm Scaf pole bolted to concrete wall . Going to make an A shape brace at the top and bolt to wall also . Hoist winch support on order .
  18. Sorry ; couldn’t hold it in
  19. I’m famous ! Thanks for the mention !! ?
  20. Just need to bolt vertically one Scaff pole direct to concrete . I’ll give it a whirl
  21. It’s ok ! I forgot I had those Fischer bolts @Onoff hates ? they’ll do .
  22. Got some of these . What fitting should I use to bolt these to concrete ? These are clamps for 45mm Scaff . All fitting ( anchor bolts etc. ) I have ; all protrude too much .
  23. Thanks again for the indirect mention
  24. Hello Plenty to learn ?
  25. I did think these planks didn’t rot , warp , fade I.e everything proof . That’s why I choose them - they do scratch easy though . So if it is efflorescence I’d be surprised. But if airflow is restricted then maybe that is the issue .
