I think a "pocster" script must be developed to attempt to maintain services in my absence . I'll even get it to post on the forum. Be like, I never left. 100's of years from now I'll still be posting ( or my script will ) - perhaps someone will query the date I joined though....

Trying to have permanent access to a remote computer. Use to use TeamViewer but now you get about 3 minutes use before it kicks you out. Googled and can't get Chrome Remote Desktop to have a permanent link to a computer even with a pin. Currently have to TeamViewer into the remote, generate a "one time access code" in Chrome Remote desktop then enter that on the original PC. All a bit of a pain!. Anyone got this or something similar working?. Just want full screen share from a headless PC on my mac . No faff . Even looked for a hardware solution ( though not sure how that would work ) p.s. mac to mac was nice "screen share" and that was it!

Then when I die my legacy of ropey software and leaking glazing will live on!

Today SWMBO wanted to talk about the HA. Actually she didn’t want to talk about it but was more concerned in event of my death how would she sort out the audio streamer or light automation etc. Etc. This got my thinking . Perhaps I should have a “ I’m alive “ switch which I must push at least every 48 hours . In the event of not pushing it I.e assume my untimely demise I can have a nice script which controls the HA and reeks havoc . Kind of like Julie Christie in demon seed but no babies .

Needles in the eyes for you!. I believe open reach have a cost limit ( before they start billing the customer for the install ) of £3,400!!! Luckily to dig a trench from the road to my plot is just under that cost. Madness really; as a line across ( following an existing line ) would be considerably cheaper for them. They did say it would benefit my twatty neighbours if they ever wanted fibre though... I'll make sure I cut the cable at their junction if that happens. It is. There is a cable going from the pole to the other house next too me ( number 3 ). It doesn't matter now as we are going to dig up the street. No you can't. But this is vindictive. She won't take a parcel in for me ; even delivery driver says "she hates you ". I appreciate it's their right to refuse it. I did suggest to open reach to get a drone and fly it over - as a serious suggestion. Apparently they only do that in Scotland - I guess due to the nature of the landscape. Still. When their driveways blocked or a parcel comes for them - you can only imagine my glee ....

As everyone hates me ; simple things become small battles. We require fibre internet. There's a pole available but on the otherwise of a neighbouring property. This would require attaching to the pole and then walking the cable across the neighbours land to attach to a pole in our garden. It should be noted they already have a cable at similar height running along their rear and above window height. So the visual impact of another cable would be negligible . Anyway the BITCH won't give them access as a malicious dig at me. So we go the only other available route. Digging up the lane to get the fibre to my boundary. This means of course cutting across outside their driveway and one would assume would be more inconvenient . When will my neighbours learn; the more they try and stop me the more chance I have of success . They are still (expletive deleted) though of course ?

As a complete non expert but I've bought maybe 40 properties in my lifetime. This looks like it could be fantastic but also a complete money sucking hole. I guess ( if it's ok to ask ) what budget i.e. cash do you actually have?

Fitted the mcalphine . Seems a much better fit. Rubber seems much thicker ( SWMBO told me about this ). Had a slight leak on my glued pipework ; up a ladder , limited view, limited light so will forgive myself. Tiger sealed around those joints. So full test tomorrow when SWMBO showers. Also 'cheated' a bit ( but again will forgive myself as accessible ) and fitted a flexicon onto the new pipework again to make my life a bit easier. So so far looking promising!!! Forgot!. Tightening the actual trap to the tray (from above ) about a million times easier than the previous trap. Easy to grip; lots of thread - so much better!
