Yeah it was ‘bent’ before I put the treads in. Might try and knock a piece of timber in there to push it out
-
Got those already . Just need to fix
-
Bottom leg of stringer well bent . I won’t be able to hammer it out . Best way to straighten this ?? surprised how ‘bent’ the steel is - not through my efforts though !! Got to fix a balustrade arm there . Could pack it out with washers …. ?

???

I don’t know .

Coooor this steels a bitch to drill . Bought a brand new Makita steel bit and I reckon it’s blunt and I’m not even through it f ecking rubbish ! . My BM doesn’t stock Dewalt because they are twats .
-
Because it looks tidy that way

Might just be AO worrying needlessly. I’ll finish the stairs ; jump / slide / stamp on them . If all good will order the biggest American fridge freezer I can find ?
-
Yeah I asked AO about this . They seemed to be concerned about the 90cm . Perhaps an American FF can’t be lead on it’s side ???
-
Yeah I reckon so . Width a bit tight . Fridge freezer is 91cm . Stairs 90cm . But once I get the handrail on ( it bolts on the side ) is about 93cm . So plenty of room ?

Well smarty bolloxs . Never intended to render the walls. Will simp[ly paint then have a 'pocket sheet' thing attached to the wall for a vertical garden. SO THERE! ?
-
Yeah. Pissed down aswell. Still - now I have to wonder if AO.com are happy to get a 140kg fridge freezer down there ?

What a (expletive deleted) of a job ! Had to have the crane repositioned 3 times . Slinger was a new guy . Crane driver in a piss . Started at 8am , now 2pm - it was a nightmare ! Stringers in . As expected it wobbles like (expletive deleted) as no bolts to the wall along the middle run . So I’ll drill a few holes into the steel and add some . The guys mellowed up towards the end so I bought them coffee , sausage roll and doughnuts . Also lobbed them some cash each . They could of stopped as it was so problematic. One said “ I’m not a staircase installer “ - he was told just 2 lifts to the garden . I appreciated their efforts . So @joe90 could I have done with your extra set of hands ? YES ?
-
You said the same about my job
-
I’m ok . But thanks for the mention

I find telling neighbours to “ get (expletive deleted)ed “ shortens the conversation considerably -

That’s where you went wrong . (expletive deleted) ‘em and just put the application in . They are going to hate it and object anyway . They will hate you and not talk to you . They will get the enforcement council guy out on any whim . No one in the area will ever talk to you . welcome to my world - and I love it ! Winner , winner , chicken dinner -
Some scratches ‘repaired’ with the touch up paint ? I will tidy up the corners later ( can re align the beading ) . Probably get some custom ral squares made to stick over the corners and hide vertical to horizontal join .
-
Cedral does scratch easily . Touch up paint doesn’t hide the scratch ( as dries to a different shade ) . Once up though ( and away from hands that can scratch it ) ; looks great . Easy to install horizontally; vertical more challenging. Also when cut the end exposed looks poor . So you might require lots of the nice matching beading / cornering which is of course expensive . Here’s mine at the rear of the property. I’ve not touched it in 2 years even to clean .

Crane arriving Monday @joe90 I called hammertie - they said they had no product to suit my need . So I followed @Onoff ‘s advice and just ordered a black pen for car scratches - I’m sure that will do ( got an exact ral match )
